a well written ending would have had L use the note and make a psuedo suicide pact , with them both dying by each other's hand essentially , bringing the cat and mouse show to a close, but with this the story literally has no where to go afterwards, so you end up with several chapters of basically nothiing.

It is like NOW or Never but he will use criminals who have a death sentence already. That's L moral compass
