What is great about PJ Harvey is that she is first and foremost a musician. Singer, songwriter and a performer. She has never let her own persona get in way with making music and that's why she continues to be successful for almost a quarter of a century.

I feel like they didn't get a good sense of the live crowd in the video. Compared to film of other festivals, this doesn't have a good context.

Amazing performance. I'm so glad that so many of her concerts get uploaded. She doesn't make the United States often and when she does she only seems to hit NY. Thank you for the upload!

Le concert des nuits de la fourvière vu sur Arte était sublime et celui_ci n'est pas loin de l être ..
it is strange to see her without playing guitar......
@p1ngu1no8 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I used to miss it...But all musicians are superbly gifted and I think her overall performance as singer/frontwoman is better without the guitar, though. I have seen her recently with the guitar alone without band in the Jonny marr show (something like that) and was awesome too.
@RayasNegroOvejas8 жыл бұрын
She has performed songs without playing guitar since 1995 though. Those To Bring you my Love performances without guitar are some of my favorites.

She can rock out just herself onstage, 'Legs' is great. But of course she has said she can access better control of her voice when her whole body is free.

Although I lost touch with Polly after stories from the city, she is still a mega talent 😉 can’t get into this TBH, but that genius is still in there somewhere I’m sure........

OMG, No. Wrong music here. I love PJ as much as anyone, but, please, more of the old style. 90s. Music was/is so spot on. Sorry, had to give an honest review here. PJ is likely best artist around. This one was not a win though. Not for me. The difference between this and the older stuff is that this feels more staged, which I don't personally like. The early stuff was raw.
@wimpingus1234 жыл бұрын
I love this, but she asks a lot from the audience by playing so much new stuff right out of the gate. The opening portion of the set could've benefitted a lot from something more rocking. Some of these tracks are great on the album but don't translate nearly as well to a live performance, as hard as the band tries. That's her M.O., though, just do what moves her, and that's impossible not to respect. You can just sense the audience growing restless during this show, though.

I couldn't really get into this. I tried but couldn't. It's a rock opera and that either works or it doesn't. For me, this doesn't quite work.

Loved her back in the days... but lost her on the way. Just can't relate to her art anymore. Things happen.

She is my favorite artist for the longest time, but this borders on cringe-worthy. There is a social justice warrior element in today's PJ that comes across pretentious self-righteous and I am so saddened by it. It is like watching my sister come back home from college a totally different zombie of a person. PJ is coming to Austin in a couple weeks and I've always wanted to see her live, but I am going to pass.
