Exactly one year ago, I had the oportunity and the honor to appreciat a brilliant and solemn presentation of Pj Harvey, in São Paulo, accurately at Latin America Memorial: personally, a place so special for me. The weather was too hot. Even though the sky was blue, the sun burning everybody was exposed to it and a I sweat very much hoping excited when this genius artist was to enter the stage. PJ delayed the show purposely. When the sun began goes down, a beatifull dusk hosted the introduction of Chain Keys. It was a Beatifull and Unforgettable Day. Thank you for this special show, Polly. Brazil is waiting for you again with open arms.

point of thought, musicians/performers are doing it for themselves. they are being selfless in that that they share it with us. too bad, most new performers don't abide by that rule. they aren't musicians, they are just actors/performers. Polly Jean deserves more. We all do.

Very good video with a strong message. If some of you haters would get your heads out of your asses and listen to the lyrics and pay close attention to the video you would see the message PJ is trying to make.
@Whuditlooklike8 жыл бұрын
+Luvie1980 I see it and can appreciate it for what it is. The problem is that it feels forced an inauthentic to me. By comparison, the polemics on Let England Shake felt like a hard, resonant look at one's own homeland. This seems like PJ is reaching but missing the mark, both musically and with her rather simple social criticism. It comes off as naive and rather half-baked, frankly.
@Luvie19808 жыл бұрын
Landon Brown I disagree with you.

+Landon Brown Its a simple message, sang to a simple tune, something incredibly hard to do actually. To over complicate or emphasise the would be to miss the opportunity imo. Shes turning into a modern day Joe Strummer.

Love this! Hope for a community isn’t the chance of a fucking Walmart. $90 million on tax breaks and incentives for the business instead of social supports for the community might have meant cheaper products for some residents, but it also meant closure of small local businesses that can’t compete, profits going out the community not in, the school still a shithole, kids still unhappy. What sort of community saviour bails because they can’t get round a minimum wage bill?

***** The guy that drove them around, was a Washington Post reporter Paul Schwartzman. The community wanted a Walmart AND a living wage for those who worked there. Unfortunately they didn't realise this is the company that would rather shut down an entire store than let let any of the staff join a union, so there's no way they are going to follow through on the promise to build a Walmart (let alone 2) in a community that has a minimum wage legislation in effect!
