A lot of collections might be a hobby but it also represents hedonism that never truly makes you happy once you feel it's 'complete'. I'd know. I have every I Love Lucy and Gilligan's Island episode and I still want a 20 TB phone to fit everything I have stored digitally for the rest of my life. Then after I get 20 terabytes, I'd want 100 TB because I want everything on my phone, right? I need to feel complete. Yet, I won't have time to watch or play any of them. Streaming and cloud storage saves space. It's just an endless higher number we keep chasing in our heads.
