Today I am at Wilko Head Office, and I am told be a blue haired security guard that I cant video, but she was very nice and we had a good chat about the company.
In some ways I knew more about the depot than she did :)

That fancy admin entrance isn’t an entrance , it’s wilkos design studio where they design and test new products. It’s since been mothballed after company restructuring. The D.C. has been sold to help shore up wilko finances to be resold a month later by the middle man for a tidy profit. Security guard dealt with the visit really well, credit to her

I’ve tipped here too many times to count but have never driven for them. Wincanton took over the contract from Canute. Their other distribution centre is down at Magor in South Wales but I’ve never delivered there.

You are correct, they do have a depot/distribution centre in Wales, not far from the Second Seven Crossing in Magor. Can be seen on your right hand side when travelling east towards the bridge.

PJ Audits - Nice video. The other Wilko Depot is just across the Welsh border in Chepstow. I worked for Canute, for a short spell, night trunking for a while from Worksop to Chepstow and back.

@@PJAudits she was a nice lady, but you should have told her that the only time you would be filming on site is when you,ve passed through the security gate. And told her that she's got no authority to approach you, but she's employed to watch and observe and report to the owner or manager of the property. Then they are the only people who can approach you and ask why you're filming. Tell them that it's a legal activity to film in public on public footpaths, and you can film anything your eyes can see and nobody not even the police can trespass your eyes.

Worked on the transport at a Wilko store,your right Canute were poor,their trailer units were scrap 20 years back and they broke down (rear lifts,electrics corrosion)untill they lost the contract only 3-4 years ago. A firm called Wincanton took it over ,but I think they were connected to Canute anyway(probably owned by Wilko) not too sure.

I drove a couple times for wilko it wasn’t to bad until they made me drive 380 miles in one night handling 190 cages on a double decker it was absolutely horrendous when I asked why I didn’t get a drivers mate they said because I’m agency it cost them more money to which I reply not my problem they tried giving me another double decker I have the folder back and walked out

She might be “nice”, but she failed. As a security employee she MUST be identifiable. That is why SIA licensing requires security staff to have their badges on display at ALL times… so they can be identified. Security staff have no expectation of privacy and MUST be identifiable. Anonymity is NOT an option. The face covering was inappropriate.

Hi...I have watched a lot of your videos and you always say how many different jobs that you have had and how many countries you have lived in...wern´t you happy in any of the jobs so that you changed a lot ?..... I worked for 45 years in the country that I reside in..all conected to the transport industry...one firm went into liquidation..one firm moved to an eastern block country and the last on that I was in is the one where I retired . I was very happy in all of those 3 jobs and for me and my family I earnt enough money.

The only reason I go I there is for copper cables however , I have noticed they do not replace their supply of cables once they are sod out they just leave the empty spools in situ over a matter of years.
