Thanks for the video. What happens later assuming Bob is served? The court will write back to me? Is everything managed via mail or do I have to attend at the court?

Once a defendant is served in NJ you have are free to conduct discovery. The court does not manage discovery unless there is a dispute and you need to file a motion. Generally, in Special Civil, you receive the court date in the mail. You have to attend the trial. If there are specific topics that you would like me to do a video on please let me know. Thanks!

How would I draft a special defense answer? I might be in school for paralegal but seems like a good idea to learn

Hello Peter, Thanks for the informative video. I have a question regarding the defendant. Should you add an additional defendant such as the owner of Bob Painting (Bobb 100 % owner and acts on behalfof the company) . Should Bob be listed as well as a defendant in the event you cannot collect from Bob Co and instead garnish Bob’s wages?

different than in New York. In NY you can sue in Civil Court up to $25,000. Also, in NY its not superior court but supreme court.
