I didn’t realize how bad Nico’s old art used to be, one of the better glow ups there. Also, I don’t think Reyna’s old art is that bad, especially compared to all the other ones.

Honestly, even if the new art is globally wayyy better than the old one, I kinda like the two styles, like they are both very unique 🤔 the first one is more realist and can make them sometimes creepy or ugly... but at the same time, in the books, some characters among the protagonists are not described as "perfect and beautiful creatures" And also I adore Hazel's previous version, she's soo cute ! (But yeah viria still drew them more like the fans imagined them and I LOVE THEM)

I like the new art but the one thing that gets on my nerves about both Piper’s is 1: in the old art it doesn’t give her the attention she deserves, and 2: in the new Art, they add feathers in her hair and it’s very disrespectful to do that(From a Cherokee) I don’t remember Rick pointing out that she had feathers, I think he just said she had little braids mixed in her hair and choppy looking layers.

Prob viria added it bc piper once attacked a bunch of harpies and she kept an feather in her hair. Rick later posted an apology about adding feathers to Piper's hair. But it's true viria shouldn't have added the feathers. Piper is kinda whitewashed in the old art too.

Did anyone notice the person who drew the old art white-washing some characters? like Leo is supposed to have a more of a Mexican complexion and Piper is supposed to have more of a bronze native-american complexion. PS, sorry if I didn't explain it well, I'm not very good at explaining, but that is my main complaint about the old art.

Black people have a wide range of skin colors, you don’t have a right to say someone is too light to be African American. I’ve met African Americans with skin colors like that. They don’t have to be mixed to be lighter.

My least favorite is Nico bc he kinda reminds me of Sid from toy story and bc there are so many scenes in the story where Nico is being a little emotional and scary but imagine these moments with his face like that, it kinda takes the vibe away. Ngl I actually do like the old art, don't get me wrong but I love the new art. But the old art makes it look like they could be actual people that don't look perfect and all. (Except Grover and Luke I hate their old art, maybe Percy ) Like the art for Nico I found pretty accurate since he was a nine year old living in the early 2000s and tried to act edgy and all lol.
