Dry Fly Fishing with Mayflies in June - Fly Fishing for Beginners

I returned to the River Exe armed with a few Mayfly flies this time. The fish still aren't rising as they would be by this time of the year and definitely not going crazy for the mayfly. A tough session that started great and then slowed down. However I can never complain about being down on the river!

hi Paul, nice to see you catching, our rivers in mid wales are in a dire situation with barely enough water to cover half their width, yest saw some rises at last in a long pool but so many flies in the air they showed no interest in anything on a line from midges to mayflies but it was nice to see fish at last . ATB

Hey mate, I'm really enjoying your videos at the moment, the scenery is very similar to where I fish. And you're a Cheap skate like me 😂 I use 2 maxcatch rods and lines and I love em. I have some very amateur videos on my channel if you'd like to have a look, they're actually screen recordings from my phone, something to do with corrupted files when I tried to upload them. Still, I think you'll appreciate the fish caught. There's even a pike one there! 👍

great video yet again mate, i really don't get why fly fishers don't like pike fishing i guess their just snobs, am not a fly fisherman but love the art of it, and you're videos but then again am just working class like yourself. keep up the great work my friend..p.s. where were you in devon as don't really no the river just the areas.

I live in Tiverton so fish the local canal or Somerset levels for pike. For trout I fish the river Exe and occasionally on Dartmoor. I’m a bit spoilt where I live for trout

Devon gets a lot of rain and all my rivers are spate rivers so the rise quickly but take an age to fall in level. Should be spot on next week….. I hope 😀
