To answer Woody's question why the other cops were waiting on the guys with rifles: because they only had pistols, and the shooter was reported to have a rifle. The school was mostly cleared and the shooter cornered, rushing in with lower firepower is not the move.

woody always has bad takes but any 12 gauge can shoot any range within that school, and if you're proficient with a pistol (as cops SHOULD be) you can easily shoot 150 yards with a pistol, i know this cause i as a canadian whose shot less than 10 times in his life can do that (on a still target non moving target ofc)

Contrary to woodys belief the other officers with a shotgun and pistol were on point ahead of the guy with the rifle while running to the shooter but when it came to last corner to turn the point man with a pistol told the officer with a rifle to push first. U can hear in the bodycam at the corner he says “lpvo push it” referring to the the officer with the rifle and attached lpvo(low powered variable zoom optic). The pistol chad then pushed in after and put 4 more shots in her head neck area giving her the new pronouns Was/Were.

How cqb works is people flood a building and push un covered areas, check each room, cover hallways and doors etc. so basically the reason y that cop ran past others on the way to taking down the suspect, is because those cops ahead of him had posted up on doorways and hallways, covering those not tet cleared areas, so if in the event the suspect engages the police, just now entering that area, there is already one police officer facing that engagement area, with weapon ready to fire, that way the NEXT officer can actually breach that area and clear it, WHILE BE COVERED BY THE FIRST OFFICER. They then continue in a leap frog type way if covering and clearing each individual room/hallway/stairwell etc. You guys are sitting here expecting ppl to just fkn rambo their way through the hallways single file, zero cover, ASKING to get shot. Learn cqb folks. Only after hearing the shots from the suspects can they rush areas, before that, he could be hiding fkn anywhere. Even then, there needs to be cover established before engaging the suspect, and you see them do it in the video, WHILE mr.ar pushes the suspect

The thing is there’s what’s called the lethal guy in any given situation officers have their roles some are non lethal lethal breacher all that good stuff not that the other cops couldn’t have taken initiative but when they train the guy with the long gun they keep him safe locate the target and the guy with a long gun takes the lethal shot sometimes you’ll see an officer assisting a hurt person and saying YOU TAKE LETHAL while throwing the long gun to another officer
