I love both of these. I think the positive could be used on any tile and the negative as well. But with the negative they could be used on coloured tiles as well. Thanks for sharing. I love this idea. For next year of course lol

Tip: gently wipe down the foil design & tile with a microfiber cloth after handling to remove any oils from your fingers. It will help assure that the design sticks to the transfer tape really well. This is especially true of the foil PSV. Also, I like to cut out of heavy cardstock, an ornament shape almost the exact same size and adhere it to the back before attaching the bail. It just gives the back a more finished look. You can even use self adhesive felt.

Thank you! I just left the back of the ornaments as is, then made sure to hang them where the back wouldn't show. I worried that adding anything to the back of them would just make them heavier.

I just found You and loving it!! Being that I'm late to the game, you already have all your ornaments put away till next year, but can you tell me how heavy each of those ornaments are?

I am so glad you like this tutorial, no matter what time of year it is! 😂 I can't tell you the exact weight but they weren't as heavy as you might think. They hung on my tree just fine. If you are worried about the weight, the Home depot tiles are smaller and lighter than the Lowes tiles.

I am sorry but I don't have a Silhouette. But I do know you upload the SVG file to your Silhouette program, and then weeding and application is the same.

I do not. You can really see the back when it is hanging on the tree.

Thanks! I Measured the length of my tile and then cut the design 1/2 inch smaller.

I would let it try for about 3-5 hours before hanging the ornament.

If you are uploading to Cricut Design Space you can use the contour tool to remove shapes. I am sure there is something similar for Silhouette although I am not as familiar with their designing software.

What type of device are you using to setup your design to cut them? Is it a tablet or laptop?

I use Cricut Design Space. I have cut this design from both a laptop and a tablet, but in the video I use a tablet.

How do you cover the back of the tile?

I did not cover the back of the tiles. I just left as is.

I made a few of these last Christmas for family members. I found the shape online somewhere and sliced a rectangle out of the top in Design Space for the hook to have space to be glued to the tile. I cut the shape out of heavy white cardstock, then glued it to the back. Before I glued them down I wrote a sentiment on them, signed and dated them. I love these made with the foil. They look wonderful! Thanks for the wonderful tutorial.
