One of the songs that definitely need to be nominated as the best song to represent early Boston punk rock'n'roll.

My crazy friend Diana was fucken one of the guys in the band, I think his name was Kevin...I loved the mid to late '70s in Boston with DMZ, Willie Loco, The Rat, Paradise, Cantones...Living in a squat and working in the Combat Zone...Absolutely EVERYONE I knew from that time is DEAD, plus I picked up a bitch of a drug habit that almost killed me, but no regrets and I still remember every minute of that era fondly!

the door guy at the "canones" in the 70's "LEO FAHEY" married one of my sisters. also , my roommate "ALPO" was the bass guitarist for nervous eaters.

@@lastmanstanding1954 Do you remember Kenny from Kentucky? She was living in the loft with us on Washington St near the Combat Zone, dealing coke. She would come home from Cantones with about 15 people, pass out cold, my boyfriend would sneak into her bedroom and clip a few quarters, crawl back down the hall and we'd shoot coke for days. I loved when Kenny came busting out of her room naked and jump on my back whenever Martha and the Vandellas song came on.

@@Mrariesdave I was the roady for the real kids when alpo played bass for them. i also was a roady for tenny coma and the silencers. then i ended up working for cid stone sound company doing sound for top acts. check this out, " johnny angel Wendell" from thrills is living in LA and has a book out "looking for lady dee" also, barb the lead singer of thrills died of an overdose. i remember "the police" at the rat, they had some top acts there. i loved living across the street from the rat. i got to go to the rat every night, get drunk walk across the street and i was home. at the rat: #1. nervous eaters, then in random order: 3rd Rail. luna. human sexual response. neighborhoods. the Vinnie Band ! willie alexander boom boom. then all the lesser punks from elsewhere like talking heads. jam. police. dead boys. maybe the dead boys weren't lesser. but the cars were (snore) even tho they weren't entirely elsewhere. ramones weren't lesser to any band, but didn't play the rat, don't think. they played Cambridge like the made up royalty they were. but, the nervous eaters were our best band. the late jerry W boston's best drummer. steve cataldo our rock god poet. and andy paley as the blonde.
