I use to enjoy my time at the beach serf fishing for smelt and perch. Setting up right on the beach with your cooker, flour, oil, frying pan is the best way to enjoy your fresh caught meal. Brings back great memories as I'm 71 now and unable to get close enough to the ocean because of C.A. regulations. Great video thanks for sharing 👍

Yeah i’m from southern oregon as well, love fishing the lakes and the coast, real big redtail perch on the beach next to the jetty in Bandon that’s right next to the mouth of the coquille river. I always slay tons of huge ones there on sandshrimp. There’s also a ton of yellow tails out of brookings right at the mouth of the winchuck river, down the beach a little ways there’s a big rock that looks like a big ol egg, right next to it there’s a big hole they all pile up in, good fishing there too.

The head stabbing just helps kill them a lot faster. If you want to keep them fresh as possible, a cooler with ice in it is the best way.
