Bravo Sacha, he is the GOAT. So glad you found this and uploaded it for all to enjoy. I have the program on DVD and it is one of the favorites in my collection that gets played frequently. Domingo does indeed embody the character so completely, he transmits Eleazar's profound torment and anguish for what he has done to (and later sacrifices himself over) his adopted daughter. He is clearly overcome by the enormity of the tragedy and is visibly fighting to maintain composure. Another tv special that has only one flaw: it's too short. lol Mehta is another conductor with whom he worked quite a lot, they clearly were great friends and they made a lot of great music together. Iv only found this segment unfortunately Alejandro your Domingo collection must be awesome 🤩🤩 I’m sure you have some collector our limited editions Iv read the story but I must see this opera !! Indeed Zubin Mehta sounds brillant ! He seems to be a very kind person as well! Oh I was quite busy these last days 😅, i have a internship in a hotel ( or restaurant) during 16 weeks ( from April to July) to do for my studies ! The problem is COVID is not helping at all , basically every restaurants are close due to the rules and 1/2 hotels are open 😅. I printed my resume , putted my finest suit on and went and almost every reputed hotel in Paris 😅 I can also go in another country if want ! Texas!!😆 Pero bueno es muy complicado Personally, I don’t mind staying home with my Domingo journey! I hope everything is going well mon ami , à bientôt !! ~S.

At the end of this aria he is overwhelmed by the emotion of it and seems to need a few minutes return to the present. He isthe best.

Thank you Sacha! I´ve never seen this video on KZbin... EVER! Plácido is the greatest tenor of all time! About this performance, I still think that his best was at the Three Tenors Concert in Paris. A Good mature performance at that venue. But this was with Plácido at his finest vocally... Anyway, it is a great recollection from the past!
