If we export this database and import into other computer with an other database name, will this anchored query worked? Because it must contain a database name while coding but its changed when import to other device?

hey manish , so sql is different from pl/sql ? or both are same ? is d way coding done is also same in both ?
@lalitya2609
@lalitya2609 8 жыл бұрын
It a very simple term . . sql is structured query language, its a basic query related language used to retrieve , manipulate , store data and also for creating/atering tables. We cannot write code in SQL where as PLSQL is procedural language SQL which means we can use SQL queries in it along with writing logic for the data manipulation or storage
@MyMengie
@MyMengie 6 жыл бұрын
plsql is more advance and We can use procedure and function in it that sql does not have it.

Hi Manish, Thank you for this great series. I encountered a question during watching this video. I got different error message after ALTER TABLE and SELECT INTO: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small ORA-06512: at line 4 ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SQL", line 1721 I could not see anything related to NULL or large integer assignments what I can see in the video at 5:25. Could you explain this difference, please? I am confused a bit. Thanks

ANOTHER ONE IMPORTANT THING Is: You can declare it to any one column type and use it as any column for ex:declare v_fname students.stu_id %types and you can use integer or varchar in that declared variable(v_fname) another example SET SERVEROUTPUT ON; DECLARE FR_NA employees.emp_name % TYPE; BEGIN SELECT emp_name INTO FR_NA FROM employees WHERE emp_id=105; DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line(FR_NA); SELECT salary INTO FR_NA from employees WHERE emp_id=105; DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line(FR_NA); END;

That dot(.) means reference on that class or object property. For example students.first_name is equal to class.property
