After October 2019, you are no more required to sit for seperate test for UK VI IELTS, your GMC registration will be considered enough to obtain a tier 2 visa. Please correct this info. From their immigration website: "You do not need to prove your English language proficiency again for Skilled worker visa (previously known as Tier 2 visa) if you had already taken some exam for GMC registration purposes."

Dear Amber For GMC registration ACADEMIC is required which you can simultaneously use for visa purposes if still valid. But it is not the other way round. So if you have a valid IELTS of general training you used for visa purpose it will not be usable for gmc registration purpose. Best Wishes

For Tier2 visa? Yes. Only thing acceptable is UKVI IELTS for Tier2 Visa.

Hey Pooja. I just checked and I need to correct myself here. If you have GMC registration then you don't need to sit for another English test aka UKVI IELTS anymore. This is the latest update by Immigration office. I didn't want to leave you hanging with the wrong information. Hope this helps!

IELTS academic. The reason is the standards and expectations for someone doing training in medical field is higher. IELTS UKvi as the name suggests is for visa purpose , not training and education purpose.

Dear Garima. NHS is the one of the biggest sponsors of work permit and tier 2 visa should not be a problem. I think you are referring to other categories of visa where the individual does their own visa. So visitor visa may become an issue but in general a visa rejection for appearing for PLAB2 is not heard of commonly.

Dear Darshana. I do not think it should be a problem getting a non training job in surgery or orthopaedics if that's what you are looking for. You have an ⭐advantage that you dont need to be taught the basics of surgery and pre and post operative management. In fact you will be an asset and consultants and registrars love such candidates because they can leave pts with you without keeping a close eye on you. You might even get RMO jobs which pay well. The disadvantage is they are not training jobs so if you are happy with it , should be fine.
