Place video on screen of 3D television screen | Element 3D tutorial | After Effects tutorial

For anyone else trying this tutorial, and struggling because the 3D model in the link is not working out for you.... There are a few things that need to happen. 1) None of the model types are native files able to be imported into Element 3D. First you need to wash the model through Blender by importing the .glTF format into blender, then exporting it as OBJ. You an then import the OBJ file into element 3D. It will be a solid color (probably white). In the textures folder that came in the zip file, rename the .jpeg file extensions to .jpg first, then you can apply the textures to the diffuse property of the material in Element 3D. The screen of the TV is not a separate material so it cannot be turned on or off as shown in this tutorial. Since I have no experience in blender to separate the screen mesh from the rest of the TV, I created a cube element in Element 3D and placed it in the same spot where the tv screen of the model is, but it has a flat front in stead of the curved CRT. . Then I could follow the rest of the instruction per the tutorial, Be sure to use a default white color on the cube element so that the screen can be seen. If you use a darker color, it hides the videos.

Hi...download the materials or images of materials from online source and apply them on to the model by adding the materials on to the diffuse map...

Hi...That model isn't available in obj format...but you can easily convert any model to obj format by using Blender which is free to use...install Blender 3d, import model to Blender and export from Blender in obj format...
