the interviewer asks Brian to explain the SM aspects of 'This Picture' because he himself doesnt have any knowledge of that kind of relationship. There's laughter at his naivity and Brian tells him he's got some magazines that could help him out, before explaining that in the context of 'This Picture' it's a metaphor for the self destructive nature of relationships in general, with emphasis on the emotional over the physical. thanks very much for uploading this interview and i hope i helped Xx
