Im proud how far this band,our Placebo,has arrived,who they are now,what they do now and in the same way Im proud of their past.We cant be so selfish and wanting from them the same for years,also u has changed ure different.Placebo is as a life,once sad,once depressed,once happy,once angry,once high,once drunk,once satisfied,once in love,once child,once mature....

A great song... I changed my mind about Battle for the sun. As I discovered Placebo only a few months ago, I was overwhelmed by their incredible music and just need some time to listen to each album carefully. I think this last album is not weaker than the others. It is different, but it is still powerful and intense, no song out of place. They are brave enough to change. They are growing old, and changing, but still immense (and Brian still charming, sexy, and talented).

i wasn't talking about some rules that define good rock music or whatever, i was talking about Placebo themselves, that they used to record songs that were a lot better than the recent ones. they were a very special band to me, with the ability to really grip my attention and my emotions and now they just sound like anybody else. that's just my opinion, and the early Placebo is TO ME the true, valuable stuff.

I think you are right.. Since they released Battle for the Sun I'm trying to realize if I really like it or it is because I love Placebo so much, but as they were at the start.. But every time I listen songs like this one, I can't help but having goosebumps all over my body...

love this song!!! one of their finest b-sides. the new b-sides album is currently tiding me over during my wait for a new album, although the 2nd redux disc of BFTS could really do with some repetitive playing too
@fkliothz215 жыл бұрын
That's a great song and they have also very good New-B-Sides like 'In a Funk' ,Movie on your eyelids' and perhaps 'Trigger Happy' will be the next !

@hunkydoris You are so right. I feel exactly the same way you do. Every now and then I can have this weird feeling when listening to Placebo (I have BFTS, but I only like Kitty Litter). I am like: will I ever experience the same feelings ever again with future albums? It can make me very sad when I think about it, not overexaggerating

I so agree with you all, I will always love placebo, They have been my fav band right from the begging, and always will be, But I just cant connect to BFTS like Say...... 'with out you im nothing' it saddens me so much (litrally) that i will never feel the way I used to about their music, And also with steve leaving the band and them recruting a 'Blink 182' style drummer! I just wish so much they would bring out more stuff like they used to!!!!!! x

Have you really understand the lyrics of songs like "ashtray heart" or "the movie on your eyelids" to say that ? Maybe the instrumental part is "happy" like you said, but the lyrics aren't at all.
@hunkydoris15 жыл бұрын
i quite liked Battle For The Sun when it came out, but Ashtray Heart really devasted me and hearing some new songs during a summer festival show didn't make things better. but perhaps i'll give the new album a try someday, thanks for the tip. but i wasn't very fond of Meds either.
@malade7115 жыл бұрын
There is a nice sentence in truffaut's "Jules et Jim", "happiness can't be described because it doesn't have words" (I translate from italian). It is sooo difficult to express joy, much more difficult than to express sadness. I think Brian tried and maybe didn't succeed. I think he is always sincere and that is why I love him. Battle for the sun is a good album in my opinion but the others were much better, I agree.

now THIS is what i call The True Placebo! and all the other brilliant, strong, emotional non-album tracks like Slackerbitch, Bigmouth Strikes Again, Drowning by Numbers, Holocaust, Eyesight for the Blind, Been Smoking Too Long, Flesh Mechanic, Dark Globe, Leni, Long Division, and not this bs that they record today like Ashtray Heart...

Seriously, who are you to define what is 'true Placebo'? Especially since some of the songs you listed are not even their own. You make it sound like they don't obey by some compulsory rules of true rock music. Ever thought about that its the band that sets them themselves?
@pisia315 жыл бұрын
Yes, they're still good, but when I'm listening to "Unisex" I think this is the end of Placebo. The end of the world. And it's so sad that they're started to write stupid, happy songs.
