I have such a weird connection with this song. The first time I heard this song was in 2010, when I saw the promo video of the match between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26. Then a year later I heard the original version from Kate Bush, and I thought "damn this is such a powerful song", but at the same time it made me feel hopeless and sad, so I decided I wouldn't listen to this song again. Years kept going and I would always get to a place where I would listen to this song again. And it wasn't like I wanted to listen to this song, but everytime I heard this one again for some weird reason I had a feeling that I had to listen the complete song and not skiping it, like if something bad would happen if I stopped the song. Last time I heard this song was in 2021, I was at a park alone, and it was very dark. And I remember that I stopped the song, and my heart started beating so fast that I thought I was gonna pass out or something, so then quickly I pressed play again on my phone to keep listening till it was over. And from that day I got so scared and decided to never listen to this song ever again. After all of that, this year I didn't heard this song at all, not even once... But then I started watching season 4 of Stranger Things, and I got to the episode "Dear Billy". And I swear to God when I got to the part where I thought Max was gonna die at the hands of Vecnar, I started shaking so bad, but then she made it to the end and when she's hugged by Lucas I couldn't help myself but to cry, but it wasn't like a sad type of crying, it was a relief type of crying. The thing for me with this song is that I always sense that something bad will happen if I don't listen to the full song, and I don't know how to stop feeling that.

Yeah same. I was telling my partner I hated whatever cover they used in the show then looked it up and was very sad.

I like when covers are creative. Like this song. This version makes the song "deeper". Of course the voice is always awesome!

First time I herd this was the first episode of the final season of the OC, but I forgot about it over time since I was a kid. Then I herd years later for the trailer of Daybreakers- was hooked after that trailer. Placeob’s version just feels darker, sexual, mysterious…… I fuckin love it!
@momomiss75452 жыл бұрын
Isn’t it crazy that Maya Hawke’s dad (Ethan Hawke) was the headliner in that movie with that version? Awesome! I got hooked after watching that movie too!

This song was played over a opening of the show Bones. I watched that opening probably 10-12 years ago and was so frustrated that I couldn’t find this cover. Then Stranger Things used it and I was finally able to find it.

I was homeless, sleeping under a bridge and all I had was my skateboard and my ipod. this was part of my soundtrack for going to the spot to skate. This cover rocks. the year was 2006.

😢😂❤this really matters to me. I had a severe breakdown in 2006. Which ultimately lead to me being homeless when 19. In 2009😮 Id usually isolate and tread with music like this. This was my tatse in music and it was such a hard thing to shake- even when homeless. I will also say- probably getting put away half way thru high school also led to homelessness

Man, I've been pumping this for years already alongside with my morning coffee trying to move my ass to work... All that anger and stress and that constant ticking in the backgroud of the song remembering the bad sleep and the stupid alarm. The amount of work I did in these last years since pandemia, pushed me to the limits and funny this comment is actually the first time when I complain of that. I love this song so much!
