Placement and Singing, how is it like shooting hoops?

Nice advice-many “voice teachers” on KZbin talk complete bologna, so I was twitching when I saw this entire video dedicated to “placement,” but I am relieved that you addressed it very accurately! The voice can not be placed, as sound can not be placed. The nature of sound is that it vibrates in all directions. When teachers ask their singers to simply “place” the voice in the mask or “place” it forward, but don’t give the functional advice to achieve this (albeit controversial and unhelpful) result, singers will simply close the throat, ruin the vowels, or a myriad of other things which simply just add tension in the vocal tract, to achieve this “placement.” Thanks for debunking the placement myth a bit!

How can I retract the false vocal cords to sing? I'm a little confused with that. Thanks, it's great!.
