I have another one to add to your list of keeping an eye on : The foam rubber seal around the refrigerator door. it collects crumbs and dust as well

Since our Airbnb is pet friendly is to take the screen cover at bottom of fridge off and take a blower to it to blow all the dust bunnies out. We regularly clean hair out of all shower and sink drains. A little vinegar and baking soda works great. 😊

Check the base of the toilets. That’s another area that gets over looked. 😊

Thanks for sharing the reality and challenges of owning STRs. Our cleaners do a fantastic job at cleaning. But their focus is cleaning and not all the little details. 99% of the time I find stuff missed after they've cleaned. We live in the same town as our 3 STRs so I do much of the details, laundry, restocking, checking cupboards, dishes, stocking, staging, etc. We finally hired a person to be a quality control inspector to come in after the cleaner's to focus on ALL the details you just discussed in your video.💕🤗

A must clean for me is the central air conditioning door and the actual AC. It grabs all the dust and it gets really dirty. I find that mini vacuums are most useful to leave the doors pretty clean. Also the air vents in the bathrooms! We clean them twice a year. Loved your video. Keep it up! 🎉

Clean filters--under the stove, heater/ac . And, everything you mentioned! Once, I didn't check behind the bathroom door and my next guests found hair clippings on the floor and wall...yeow!

I use robovacs under the beds, under the dressers, and under any heavy furniture. They will push any objects out from underneath that heavy furniture so you don't have to move it

We had an issue with the freezer. Cleaner must have used a rag to wipe it clean and ended up depositing dust and hair instead. Also, dumping out water from the tea kettle.

How about the dryer lint trap, the toothbrush glasses, the bedroom drawers always sporting a couple of pubes, the mop left wet in the bottom of the bucket, the toilet paper not being restocked (so annoying because then guests go buy the cheapest 1 ply stuff and then the cleaners mix that into the stock for the next guests and we use 4 ply, amazingly soft paper). Refilling soap dispensers, shampoo and conditioner… This is my list of ‘Oh my god, how many times do I have to ask for these things to be done…’. Especially the pubes in drawers…the worst. Our cleaners earned 45,000 Swiss Francs to clean our 4 units in this location. They promised us the sun, the moon and everything below and how we wouldn’t have to worry about the small details. Yes, we do deep cleanings like the tops of pantry doors and stuff like that but the basics are often missed and I am continually on the verge of asking them to go. Low availability of cleaners in our locale makes it hard to do but I am thinking about an inspector. This video touched my most sensitive nerve! Thanks for it, knowing I’m not the only one experiencing all this, gives me solace.

Let's say a host has two bedrooms, but the reservation is for one guest or one couple. Do you clean both bedrooms even though it looks like nobody went in the 2nd one? I imagine there are times where they decide to switch beds (and make the bed, so you wouldn't know).

I'm not a thorough cleaner at all, but even I open the bedroom doors to sweep behind them. I could totally see the towels hanging on the back of the door being missed.

I think you guys said you don’t have a dishwasher. Those really do help trying to keep things clean. I hate going into the house with no dishwasher.

Has anyone done the trend on tik tok for your garbage disposal? Fill garbage disposal with ice run your garbage disposal and cleans all that gross goo out of disposal. Works great!

For some reason the light switches get ignored. I wipe them down every time. Doesn’t matter how many time I message the cleaners. Their priority is the beds and bathrooms I guess 🤷🏻♀️

Great video! Door handles on the frig, oven, dishwasher; they get grimy. Guests will put dishes away from dishwasher and there still is dried on food on them...yuck! Inside the trash can and trash cans with with step on pedal the lid gets gross. The warming drawer pullout on the oven. Oven knobs.

We pay our cleaners handsomely and pride ourselves on paying them above their competitors because we know how important they are to our business. We've had guests complain about how high our cleaning fee is and have not budged on that ever - no matter the small things that get missed here and there. We're human and we get that because we were the cleaners for the first almost year of our business
