Good job Thanks you for the education. After germination and you've done nursering them in the poly bags, how long should it take to before you can them finally transplant them to the field?
@ndefcameroon Жыл бұрын
From four weeks upwards depending on a number of factors like the fertility of your potting medium and heat

Does it need heat at the tender age while In the nursery
@ndefcameroon Жыл бұрын
Of course, yes! After harvesting the young plantlets from the greenhouse and potting them, they are again be placed in another greenhouse or greenhouse-like structure for weaning. it is like an incubator that helps these immature plantlets to develop into independent plantlets. Heat is therefore very important else the mortality rate will be very high. No direct sunlight. #NDEF promises to make a subsequent video when we will start harvesting and weaning the plantlets gotten from the explants in video. #ndef #ndefcameroon #plantain #plantain #multiplication #plantlets

Please how often should we wet the ex plant embedded within the saw dust?. And what quantity of water is safe?
@ndefcameroon2 ай бұрын
From 3 months up to 6 months depending on your level of expertise. Excess water will always drain out. Remember that the plastic beneath is perforated. Watering 2 days a week is ok

@ndefcameroon Thanks and God bless, sir. And please, one more thing. I have cut the first couple of buds which grew out vigorously (i.e. have thick base). I believe those are the "apical dominance" thing that need to be cut for lateral sprouts. But a couple of others are also coming out with thick base too. Should I continue to cut and activate those ones too until I get lateral growths?

Is there any need of sterilizing the saw dust to avoid any infestation??

Can you use soil as the growing medium?
@ndefcameroon11 ай бұрын
If you can have access to fine dust, do well to get it. In the absence of that, soil may work, but will never be the best.

Do u have to use sawdust n what kind
@ndefcameroon4 ай бұрын
Yes, the fine or soft kind, not rough wood shelves as the latter will hamper the process
