The nano-virus is all about speed. The kill code - instead of a vaccine - will develop very quickly, but your authority will drop extremely rapidly. For Mega Brutal difficulty, the trick is getting the richest nations working on the cure as quickly as possible, then managing your authority just long enough to hold out.

Actually, the game rounds off the amount of deaths the pathogen caused to such a number, so if, say, 71,686,041 people die, the game rounds it off to 72,000,000 people dying.

@@dillydragonthetroll4119 you don't need to do that. If you go for a lengthy strategy where you let the whole world die, your authority will collapse. It is easier to get recoveries and then protect them with quarantines. Even easier than that is to close the starting continent off and just stop it there.

Nanovirus isn't too hard in plague mode, it's mostly luck based as you have to hope it enters the island countries before they close up. But yeah, cure mode nanovirus is toaster bath.

Last time I played cure mode bioweapon killed so quickly you could win without doing anything to help the population. And just let the bioweapon do all the work whilst you cover up the deaths. Absolutely broken strategy.

I guess as soon as possible, but after kill-code supercomputing and the cold/heat resistance (just like Pravus did). Because you obviously want faster research and slower spread as early as possible. So should you buy it as late as possible? Probably not, because with high deaths, research speed will go down again, so you probably will want to have that happen as late as possible.

I beat it first when it spread to every continent. I just locked down the entire world in quarantine with leftover points so panic didnt thrash me as hard as it normally would have. I always get 1-2 stars on mega brutal, but for me, it is winning that matters not the score.
