How, where do I start on this , my first cross stitching kit? It’s called wedding heart. It’s a heart shape filled with flowers champagne glasses cake ribbon running all around the heart . It’s blank in the center and I will put names and dates in the center last ,
@DH-qz2so
@DH-qz2so 4 жыл бұрын
I would do like above, fold the cloth to find the center...then find the center of your pattern, even if it is 'blank'....then count over on your pattern from the middle, to the right until you hit the first 'stitch'...then stitch that one x according to the color floss on the pattern....then go from there.

I'M SO CONFUSED. Like after she says the insert the needle and put the hoop thing on in the beginning, she goes to the paper, and then when she goes back to the stitch the needle thing is gone and she says the goes from the back middle and go up?!? What happened to the first stitch thing? 1:38-2:15

Hi there, Michelle! Thank you for your question. As shown, it is helpful to "mark" the center of your fabric (where the two folds of the Aida cloth crease together/intersect) by sticking your needle through a that spot. This way, it is easier to visualize a centered cloth when you are securing it in your hoop. We recommend starting all of your cross stitch patterns from the CENTER of your pattern (and thereby the CENTER of your cloth!) If you cannot still see the "intersection" of the fold marks after your cloth is placed in the hoop, we recommend keeping your needle as a place holder until you are ready to start stitching. Once you are ready, remove the "place holder" needle and thread entirely, then "start your first stitch" by bringing your needle up from the back of the cloth through the bottom hole that your "marker" needle was originally in. Then bring needle back down through the opposite top hole that the needle was also "marking." After that, secure your thread as shown in the video by threading your needle through the end loop of your thread on the back side of your fabric. Thank you for crafting with us! Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Is the embroidery hoop necessary?
@DH-qz2so
@DH-qz2so 4 жыл бұрын
Hoops do help with keeping the cloth taut and keeping a nice tension for the project...the finished project will look better.

how did u thread ur needle? im confused
@DH-qz2so

One strand of floss....fold floss in half....put both 'cut' ends into the eye of the needle....now you are using 2 strands of floss for project....this is for the LOOP method of starting the project...eliminates more weaving in of ends on the back...which adds bulk and messiness.

it all depends on the cloth you are using as well...but normal Aida cloth is usually 2 strands of floss.

This is a good example video, however; I find the guitar music ‘too loud’ trying to listen to what you are saying and this distracts me from what you are trying to teach. I came away with a slight headache. A shame this prevents me from viewing anymore of your classes.

@DH-qz2so
@DH-qz2so 4 жыл бұрын
This method is used to help keep a 'clean' back of project, to help eliminate extra threads being woven in, to 'end' the floss color and start a new one....this is called the LOOP method....watch more youtube videos to help you understand this way of starting.
