Oi, David! Muitas vezes, a palavra *coitada* é colocada no diminutivo *(coitadinha)* que, por sua vez, é reduzido a *(tadinha).* Quando você ouvir *tadinho* ou *tadinha* já sabe do que se trata.😊

Yes - Beatrice's explanations are fantastic!! Before I saw this video I just usually translated coitada = poor thing/girl and coitadinha = poor little thing/girl -- which works pretty well --- but it is nice knowing the exact reason. Never realized it has a masculine form, coitado, -- just never heard the masculine form being used before. Finally learned the reason between alguns and algumas because of Beatrice as well -- strangely it never dawned on me that it was just the masculine and feminine versions of the word. How to use muito (versus when it is muita, or muitas, and muitos) is another one -- usage seemed very odd -- but after getting the explanation - I totally got it. So sometimes it really helps to learn the "rules". I infer a lot of rules on my own -- but some like the rules around the use of muito are very hard to infer. Easier in some cases to be told -- these are the rules. 🙂
