Awesome video. Thank you so much. My exact same Panasonic is now 14 years old and I’m going to try this to fix it. The only thing I don’t like about this tv is the amount of energy it uses, other than that it’s been a great tv.

Glad it helped! I know what you mean about the power, we live in Canada and I used to joke that with that TV our furnace doesn't have to work as hard in the winter

Great, i solved a similar issue on my 2011 42vt20, just reseating the flat cable junction in the center of lower part of circuit right behind the main tv stand. It's few days now that v-line doesn't show off. I think this video save. ME. To buy a new expensive and probably unsatifating tv. Thanks and cheers

I don't believe the brand matters, I am NOT a TV repair guy but if your TV already has a line thru it then it is worth a try, if it works good. If it doesn't it was already headed for the trash. Good luck. I hope you save your TV. 😊

I have now a similar issue where a green/blueish line, becoming almost a bar, appeared on the centre of the panel of my 12 years old plasma Panasonic. If I turn off the TV and I let it cool off, when I turn it back on, the TV panel is perfect, but after~20 mins the vertical line/bar appears again. I think I might give it a try...

SO: - Take it apart - Clean it - Put it back together again - If it works, it works... ^^^^Bonus Winner!

Many electronic problems can be fixed that way. Just disconnecting and reconnecting connectors wipes the electrical interface enough for function to return.

I have a think black horizontal line in the lower center. And a large black virtical bar on end right as though ive unplugged a ribbon cable. Cleaning the contacts (alcohol) does nothing. is it a panel fault? Or are the ribbon cables damaged somehow?

Sorry for the late reply, I'm not really sure what your issue would be I'm not really an electronic guy or a TV tepairguy I was just lucky enough that the cleaning worked on mine

Same here. Did you try and did it work for you? I have a 12 yo plasma, which is better than any new TV so don't want to trash.

Nice one, thanks for posting this! Appreciate you sharing in the hopes of saving more TVs from going to the landfill unnecessarily. We have a TC-P42U2 with similar guys. Have had this vertical line issue for a few years and it mostly creeps back in the warmer summer months, so I suspect the contacts are being affected. Was researching a replacement part but I'll definitely give this a try! The line never came back for you? Thanks again and stay safe!

Sorry for the late reply, the line never came back on the same contact however other lines showed up. Fixed 3 of them but then on the fourth time I could not make it go away so I had to dtich the TV.
