Satan presents us with the same temptation today as he did to Eve, Adam, Jesus. The constant employment of our capabilities to amass wealth on earth binds us to earth. We become slaves to money. When wealth increases, our idolatrous hearts become forgetful of God, and we get self-secure and satisfied. Religious duties are neglected. We become impatient under restraint. The world comes in between the soul and heaven. Our eyes are blinded by the “god of this world,” so that we cannot discern or appreciate the value of eternal things. In Jesus' name, may we give up everything in exchange for Heaven’s eternal Treasure.
