I understand your need to 'write it down' completely. Unless I do, then it's spend, spend, spend. After decades of that mindset, I buckled down and started budgeting. And for me, weekly, if not daily, check-ins are necessary. And I have to 'plan' my spending. Plus I find watching budget planning videos, at least running in the background while at my desk, help me stay motivated to be on track.

You might consider the two year plan for the kindle unlimited. It’s around $145 or about $6 a month.

Loved watching this! I am definitely going to start including a budgeting system in my planner starting in January. I’ll check out some of your Etsy resources. Also so amazed that you are able to keep your grocery budget to $50 per week with inflation bringing costs up. Would you ever consider sharing your grocery haul or meal plans? I know that’s not your typical content but I’d be interested to learn how you save money on groceries!

Hi Ilysse, Thank you for sharing your budgeting knowledge and how we can track everything in a planner. I also enjoy seeing how you decorate the pages while still keeping the spreads functional. While I’m off during the coming holidays, I’m planning on setting up my regular planner and my faith planner. I hope you don’t mind me asking, but have you or do you use a faith planner? I imagine that when you first started budgeting your monthly income wasn’t as high, how did you manage to budget at that point? Also, what budgeting or savings advice would you give to for someone who isn’t getting paid much?

Budgetting is one of my 2023 goals, although it's not easy for me. One of the reason beings I don't understand numbers (severe discalculia) and I don't really see myself setting aside a budget for each areas. One thing I am keeping is saving x amount of money each month although a specific bill is not due that month ( each bill covers two months and I most of the time I don't have multiple each month), hoping that this will make sense LOL Kind of jealous since my monthly income is about the amount of your weekly paycheck LOL

I think it's great to save a certain amount each month! If setting up a budget is challenging for you, you may want to use an app instead, such as YNAB (You need a budget)- I haven't personally used it, but I've heard good things!

Do you feel kindle unlimited is worth the money?

It depends on how much time you have to read.. at least, that is the conclusion I came to. When I was able to read 3 or 4 books a month.. it was worth it. Now, I'm just buying each book... I don't have as much time to read as I did before. If more of my time opens up, I will go back to kindle unlimited but until then... I'm better off paying $3-$5 a book. It's cheaper for me in the long run.

I would agree that it depends on how much you read! I do read a lot, but Kindle Unlimited also exposes me to authors and books I didn’t know existed. Often, when I’m looking for my next book, I just browse Kindle Unlimited and always find something good!

The Jewish calendar is a Lunar calendar, which has about 12.5 months- So the dates of Jewish holidays vary every year

I have gotten like 5 Bombas sock ads recently. I am so intrigued! Are they really the best, best socks?! I think my autistic child would love not having a toe seam. I think you were the person that has mentioned them previously. If not, ignore me! lol
