I have so enjoyed your videos! I wonder if you could to a tutorial or perhaps there's a simple trick to adjust the neckline of a wrap dress pattern? Most of the patterns I've seen the neck line is much to low for my level of modesty. Can a, "v", neck on shirts even BE adjusted. I've looked for tutorials to no avail.

Hi Alisa..Have you ever/thought of making DVDs on your sewing? I’m sure I wouldn’t be the only one at the front of the line to purchase them. Thank you Sweetheart for spending your time, teaching us to be sewers. I really like the way you mark the patterns, to make it easy for us. I do sew, have for years, and self taught., but I would like my young Granddaughters to watch you and learn from a pro, as you make it look so easy. Bless You. ❤️

I'm playing with the idea of capsule wardrobe being something you rotate seasonally, so you have a fresh look every three months or so, putting other seasons into storage (maybe under the bed, in those extra-large Ziploc bags so they're airtight and bugproof). I'm thinking this may help relieve the boredom people feel from limiting their choices, and allow for more specific coverage/weight for weather. Obviously, I'm also excited about introducing seasonal color themes and maybe holiday nods. What I'm not sure about is how many pieces one is "supposed" to shoot for in a capsule wardrobe. I've heard anywhere from 10-30 pieces, and some folks include stuff like shoes, coats, or underwear in the count; while others don't bother counting things they consider "basic" like a plain white shirt or even a jacket. It's very confusing to figure out what the word "capsule" really means. I like the idea of putting pieces together like an interchangeable puzzle. I like the thought that a capsule wardrobe maximizes your value in each piece, because it is intended to last for many wears, even for many years, compared to fast fashion pieces which often are discarded after five wears or less. I like the environmentalism of investing in quality, and the social justice of paying fair price for fewer things (or making it myself) rather than supporting slave wages overseas. I'd like to come up with a plan how to build/maintain/evolve my own personal capsule wardrobe. I want plenty of rich color, and not monochromatic, and not more than half neutrals. I think it's a reasonable sewing goal to add/replace one or two pieces each season, as things wear out or fashions change, or just for fun. My first capsule goal is to clear out my closet and bring back only things I intend to wear this season, saving the rest in storage. I think not having all my clothes to look at every day will clear my head and help me forget what I own, so next season I can happily discover things with fresh eyes and "shop" my own stash before deciding I need to buy/make anything new. My hope is that with all this mental and physical space cleared, I can reallocate that energy into better directions than just trying to fuss over clothes I'm not wearing or appreciating. I can save for new pieces I really want, and sew whatever gives me the most satisfaction.

Really enjoyed your comment, great food for thought. Great questions and ideas. Might I add that you should write a book or a blog?! You express concepts with great clarity and your writing is interesting. The way you write is very personable… almost seemed like I was listening to someone talking.

Who cares! You are so judgmental, maybe you ought to look at your own life before judging others. Best of luck to you, you need it.
