I got the Timeless, the S12 (non-Pro) and the Tangzu. Imo the Timeless has a very good precision, especially in the bass. It's a bit dry, especially compared to the S12, but for music where technical aspects matter, i.e. classical, it's great. The S12 is THE party IEM. You put it in, turn on the music and you immediatly start moving, because it sounds so engaging and fun. The Tangzu is somewhere in the middle, I'd say. It's not as fun as the S12 and not as "dry" as the Timeless, but I struggle with IEMs with big nozzles and unfortunately the Tangzu has quite big nozzles. So I can't wear it for longer time periods, which actually is a pity, because it's a very good set overall. Actually many of the IEMs that came out lately seem to "suffer" from big nozzles, which obviously isn't a problem for everybody, but for me it excludes a lot of the newer models. Dear producers, there are ppl with smaller earcanals that can't thrust elefant trunk sized nozzles in their ears. Please keep them a little smaller. 😀

Why you did not just buy one good planar set + a qudelix 5k and use the parametric EQ? Why you throwing money away.

Between the three, what would you suggest for modern metal/rock with a mix of electronics, lots of instruments, and high pitch male vocals? I heard that S12 pro is very very good for rock.

Underrated comment bro i’m using s12pro and feels like 25% less engaging than s12 but i’m happy with that. Also i EQ a little bit at 1k & 7.5k each at -1db (Dan audio’s EQ) feels so immersive 😊. I also have same problem with big nozzle and shape thats why not considering to upgrade MP145 the elephant size and can’t even listen for more than 10min.

Dan's Audio Reviews did audio demo comparisons and Timeless is very close to MEST when it comes to technical performance, very airy and detailed

I EQ'ed my timeless to mest on squig link, they have quite a weird tuning, Not sure how close it would sound to real deal, but the tuning of the mest ain't for me, I use my timeless mostly on the Harman 2019 target with a bit of extra bass, Harman is probably one of the best All round FR.
@LISTEDGames2 жыл бұрын
@@gixxerman1128 I mostly like the timeless for their technical performance, not tuning, I wish timeless would have CCA PLA13 tuning or Maestro Mini's tuning. that big sub-bass level

I experience the same thing with the S12 Pro about the imbalance in the treble region. This is noticeable with vocals especially for the airiness and sibilance. When I hear sibilance of a certain frequency, I can hear it on more on the left side and vice versa. Its weird since it distorts the image in my head like the vocals is not facing in front of the listener. But overall, it's a very detailed experience. It was fatiguing at first due to the head shaking bass response, but now it's a good game. It's just the treble that kinda ruins the experience.
@VortexReviews12 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your impressions and many planar models seem to have the imbalance but I would see if you have any ear wax issues as well.

@@VortexReviews1 Definitely an earwax thing for me. I received my S12 Pro's earlier this month and heard the same sharp treble in the left ear and not so much on the right...been on a daily wax cleanup regimen and don't hear it much anymore... I also read somewhere the left ear is more sensitive to music compared to the right, so that might also be why treble is perceived more in the left ear.
