Finally someone having a set that's similar to mine....they are tuned slightly different.....it's not just driver inbalance .....they are smoother than the original!

I have enough planars,but if I had to choose, I’d choose the s12 pros over the originals. Looks like they bought down that 8k peak. When the original s12s was on sale, I chose the P1 Max. The s12 pros look pretty good though. Great review. Thanks!

Which planers do you think have the best female vocals? Would the quieter 8khz s12pro make female vocals worse? I’m also looking at the timeless
@sagaman47852 жыл бұрын
@@mokad Depends on how much money you want to spend. P1 Max for $100 is really good deal at Linsoul. Best planar at that price point. Timeless is awesome, but expensive and the new Timeless AE is out and cost even more. I think most planars do well with female voices but watch what you buy. Dunu and Moondrop aren’t doing very well with their planars so watch plenty of reviews on them before you buy. Most reviewers can tell you which ones are good for female vocals.

Great review. I have the original S12's and I really love them. The treble never bothered me and I don't mind a little bump in the 8k region. Will I upgrade to the Pro's? As good as they seem with a smoother signature, probably not. Personally, I wish they would have changed the design to make them fit better (3D-designed perhaps) or at least make the nozzles longer. I constantly have to re-adjust them and that's gets to be annoying after awhile, but getting the right tips can help sometimes. I'm still very curious about the P1 Max though. 🤔
@VortexReviews12 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much and I see what you mean about the shape and I guess in the future we will see and Shuoer Planar. P1 Max is another solid option.
@sagaman47852 жыл бұрын
The P1 Max is a very good planar, especially for the $100 at Linsoul. The fit is good and it is does sound similar to a single dynamic driver IMO. Has a good flat response and air on the high end.For the price it’s a steal.

I hated them at first. Very flat and sibilant. Couldn't find a good EQ and no subbass to speak of. But after adding spinfit w1's and eqing them through the qudelix app... as well as adding a tripowin zonie balanced cable, they really came to life. Super clear and bass is full bodied and rich. They are very revealing though bad recordings can sound extra bad.

The s12s and zeitian wus have the same driver, only difference is the tuning, so it boils down to preference I really like the planar sound though...I was going to buy the s12 pros but then a friend offered me the mangird tea 2s virtually new for £150 so I snatched his hand off ( I owned the original mangird teas and loved them )

Do the mids sound kinda distant and recessed for anyone else? Got the S12 recently and I'm actually kind of disappointed with them because of that. They are very good in some aspects, but they really lack vocal "clarity" imo. The mids just get drowned by everything else.
