@NOW WHAT what's interesting, one day I tried to estimate the overall retro airliners' safety based on aircraft lost/damaged due to mechanical failure by the quantity of aircraft built ratio. Tupolev 104 gets around 5,8% (really fucked up even for a 1st gen airliner), 4,6% goes for the Comet, 4,75% for the 707 and the Caravelle gets 4,9%. Old breed jets were something else. 💀

Don't remind me. My father actually saw the Concorde in flames fly right above his head and my aunt also saw it while she was at work but thankfully the heroic pilot managed to crash it in a less populated area. The pilot sadly gets way less credit than he deserves. Btw, this the only fatal incident in the history of the Concorde after 27 years of operation.

We were on a flight on Japan Airlines once and I wanted the window seat, but someone else took it, and to make matters worse they were either watching shows or sleeping the whole flight. Not once did they look out the window except during takeoff & landing. I actually like seeing the view while the plane is in the air. That was such a waste of a good seat
