As a Fokker fan myself, too bad that Fokker went under... totally unnecessary. If only the Dutch government at that time had more balls...What a waist!! This plane could have been build by Fokker, great looking and innovative design. Just shows that a small country can build great planes. Keep up the good work Pilatus!

I'm 40 years old and this is a life time dream of mine. With a family, career, bills... I don't know how I could possibly get this going. I've been a lifetime flight-simmer and aviation buff, also a USAF avionics vet. This is the one thing in my life that I have ever dreamed of doing, but the chips just haven't fallen my way yet. Somehow it has got to be now or never! I can't live my entire life and not give this a go.

Mike Alpha Mike - I've dreamt of being a commercial pilot since I was 3. At the age of 53 I got rid of my toys and the place I was staying,moved into a semi and drove 150,000 miles. Took about 1.5 years. I saved all I could and took a loan out for the rest. Figured it was my last chance. I know this isn't an option for everyone but that is how I did it. Currently I fly the SA227(cargo) in the U.S.,Canada and Mexico. One more thing... IT WASN'T EASY!!!

What a marvelous airplane! When Pilatus builds an airplane they do it RIGHT! I am sure once you fly in the PC-24 you never want to look back! A service ceiling of FL450 so you are above all the commercial traffic and can just breeze along to your destination. I checked and it is rated for Single Pilot Operation which I suspected from all the avionics packages. The plane must be a pilot's dream to fly! ONE BEAUTIFUL PLANE!

That was your best PC24 video yet, very good! I like your way to really get the youtubers to follow the preflight and run up, nice, detailed and calmly explained. Understand QPM (which is there to replace an APU to get current for Air cond. and aircraft power where there is no GroundPowerUnit, GPU) has some restrictions. Does it top up the batteries? What ground operations can't be done under QPM. Tanking according to Scott Marshal in your delivery video. Is this forever or is it a software fix down the line. A really impressive aircraft as the first jet from the Swiss, almost embarrassingly good for the crop which has done jets for decades. Thanks!

Some friends and I want to solve a problem. We have many oil execs coming from West Texas to Corpus Christi and they have to fly in commuter either out of San Antonio, Houston, Harlingen or sometimes Dallas in squeezed seats. We put together a business plan to buy one or two of these to give them direct flights from a small local airport of even a grass strip near their oil fields and give them first class service.

@wettrump441
@wettrump441 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah very interested in the PC-24 vs 300E. :) PC-24 looks like it has better avionics and equipment, probably even possible to make it oceanic with dual FMS. Better landing performance, safer dual wheels. But it sould have much less real world range (against the wind) because of lesser speeds.

Btw, the cockpit layout is similar to the Embraer Phenom family (100, 300), even the yoke looks similar, therefore, I would guess that making the transition would not be that hard (like from the Hawker 800 to the Beechcraft Premier IA). The only item missing in both aircraft (Pilatus/Embraer) is the HUD and maybe some cameras here and there...

I am curious, is the engine too loud to use as a Apu? I am getting at using it in qpm to run systems and AC while on the ramp for instance while waiting on my passenger (don't tell her I said anything) lol. Bigger Jets run the Apu and I just wonder if you could park, shut down LT engine, put RT in QPM and get out to do fuel, wait on passengers ect.. Your in Vegas and I'm in Phoenix so you know what I'm talking about needing AC to precool. Just curious for a short stop on if I have to get a cart or can use the airplane it's self to stay cool. That is a great plane. Thank you and be safe.

Concerning QPM, I understood that it’s not counting on the engine hours due to almost no wear in this mode. But I assume it does count on the cycle of the right engine, right? If you would use the QPM regularly wouldn’t you run out of cycles or are the engines interchangeable?
@PlaneJunkies
@PlaneJunkies 4 жыл бұрын
Cycles are only counted on start up taken to flight . There are more start up to flight cycles on the left engine due to quick turns and only shutting down the left and starting back up when we depart. We don’t just run qpm and not go anywhere
@zlindriver4231
@zlindriver4231 4 жыл бұрын
@@PlaneJunkies once again, thanks for the quick response in this topic ;-) Makes sense of course. So the “issue” with too many cycles originates on the left rather then the right (QPM) engine. Or isn’t that seen as an issue, concerning maintenance costs?

What kind of oil does the Pilatus PC-24 use? And what's it for? I mean does it lubricate the bearings inside the turbine or something? Piston aircraft and automotive engines, I get it but jet engines I'm not sure. I'd like to see that in a future video.
@Patrick-pm1sn
@Patrick-pm1sn 5 жыл бұрын
ebrown405 all jet Engines use Turbine Oil. E.g. from Aeroshell. It’s not a Pilatus (btw. Williams Engines) specific but a given for turbine engines regardless of type. Oil consumption is normally much less than oil consumption on piston engines so you can get out many many hours before refilling the oil.
