Love em! My grandfather test flew the 1st P26 #1. Incredible little plane. The feeling of flying this single wing vs bi planes must have been one hell of a sensation.

I didn’t realize how much wire bracing was still required on the aircraft. It doesn’t really give you a sense of confidence in the airworthiness of a fighter in higher g flight.... but at the time I guess it was the norm.

Great video! Every airplane here is very cool, but that P-26 Peashooter is my favorite by far. It so great to not only see all these planes, but also hear them without some cheesy artificial childish "music" over dubbed. Thank you.

What a great video! This video showed me an aircraft type that never made it into military service, at all.

I would bet that the guy at first that had to get that inertia starter going was happy when the engine started. That looks like hard work.

I am so disappointed in myself. I was having a really bad time around the Chino show so when I went, I was not able to enjoy it to the fullest. Chino is always my favorite show of all time. Thank you for posting this. I am able to once again enjoy the show.

When the guy is "hand-cranking" the Peashooter, the sound created is the sound used by Warner Bros. in their sound effects for old classic cartoons.

Man! I can't wait until the wife and I move out there in a couple years! Sometimes, I kid with my wife about what it's going to be like. (Me, imitating my wife on the phone); "Hello? Planes of Fame? Is my husband there?" POF; "Yes, he is." Wife; "Tell him to get home right now, or there really IS going to be a dogfight!"😄

Chine PoF Air Show has included a Grumman FF-1 and Duck amphibian in the past. Wanna see a Boeing P-12 / F4B-4 and a Curtis P-6E in the future. IDK if there are any that are flightworthy now.

My dad, who served in the Aleutian Campaign said some early fighters used in the war were started using a shotgun shell starter. If so, how does this work and what planes used this device? Thanks.

Hah that Ryan STM-S2 has Dutch air force markings of that era. That plane apparently served in the Dutch East Indies.

9:03 are those axles bent on the 190?
@Voodoo16506 жыл бұрын
Oscar Thorpe No, this plane has some type of axle that can be turned either direction, I’ve seen them taxi before and move from one side to the other. It’s very different and I’ve never seen it done on any other smaller aircraft, other than the B-52 bombers.

The Philippine Airforce will be Very Happy if Someone will Donate a P-26A Pea shooter for their Museum I means a lot for them. that Aircraft fought Against The Japanese Zeros during the first days of World War two in the Philippines.
