Planes Of Fame - F4U-1A Corsair Demo Flight!

Hey guys! We have a special treat for all you military aircraft buffs out there! Today we visited the Planes Of Fame Air Museum in Chino, California to watch a live demonstration flight of the oldest F4U that is still in operations. If you have never been to the Planes Of Fame Air Museum, we highly recommend you come and visit! We have been coming to this museum for as long as I can remember and we always watch their awesome airshow every year. We provided a walk through video of the museum and a couple of its hangars. You can also listen to a history talk on the F4U. Then, watch as the F4U gets taxied and listen to the roar of its 2000 horsepower radial engine. It was challenging to video her flight because we were not by the runway and it was difficult to find her in flight because of the hangars. But, we caught her in flight. So, sit back and enjoy!

Jon that's a nice day. Up here in the pacific north west. In Skagit County where I live we have the HERATAGE FLIGHT MUSEUM AND ITS A LITTLE COOLER BECAUSE WHEN THEY DO FLIGHT DEMONSTRATION YOU CAN BE OUT ON THE FLIGHT LINE AND THE PLANES DO AWESOME LOW HIGH SPEED PASSES AND DIVING ATTACK RUNS ON THE AIR FIELD I HAVE SOME VIDEOS ON MY CHANNEL YOU SHOULD CHECKEM OUT. Jon this video is really special to me. Reading the book Ba Ba Black Sheep in around 1960 got me interested the Marine Corps and more specifically Marine Corps aviation. I enlisted in the Marine Corps 58 years ago (August 1962) and spent most of my 4+ years of service time as a Fire Control Technician with VMFA-542 (see our squadron emblem to the left of this message.) I believe we were the first Marine Fighter Attack Squadron to go to Vietnam in April of 1965. Thanks for the memories Jon!

Here in Tucson we are members of the Pima Air Museum. Too hot to go outside here now but real soon will be going there a lot. Have fun. On engine start up I hope they had fire extinguishers out. Those engines catch fire a lot on start up.

Dude your lucky to live near Planes Of Fame. ONE of the BEST air museums in the world. I have seen their Corsiar fly and its great. Keep flying! Fun fact-planes of fame also has a location near the grand canyon. Great video Jon!!!!!

There were hundreds of people that day. It was both a plane show and an antique car show in the same event. We were not alone. There were many people outside the parking area with us all wearing masks (behind the camera). We were saying that we respect them by wearing masks too.
