This is very unnatural. But, I think I am crushing on them. They are the sexiest things I have ever seen! Just thinking of them gets my pulse rate up. If a preserved example of one got me that hot and bothered, I can only imagine what the pilots and mechanics thought when they saw a new one rolling out of an assembly line.

Boy guys, heart breaking to see that belly landing! As a long-time Giant Scale RC flyer and real GA pilot, I have to level a criticism here on ALL the landing approaches to the pilots: they were all way, way, way too steep which didn't allow any of the aircraft to bleed off speed and settle in to ground effect over the runway. Those steep landing approaches are building "E" as the aircraft approach the runway, accounting for the instability and porpoising in the attempt to flare. Don't hate me guys (lol); I'm just trying to keep your beautiful birds in the air! Practice a low-angle approach (starting from at least 100 yds downwind!) and "fly" those aircraft with gear and flaps down at a controlled descending approach. You will notice a much more stable and decelerating aircraft as you cross the threshold, making clean "greeser" landings. Remember to never let your aircraft fall through the ground effect - just flying down, nose level. Love your birds and your field!! Great video..happy skies.

Great flying for all three pilots. I am a North American AT-6 instructor (real airplanes) and tail draggers require MUCH more skill than tricycle gear planes. I can only imagine the difficulty with remote controls.
@JohnVHRC Жыл бұрын
I have a tailwheel endorsement (real planes), I think Rc can be harder because your not in it, you dont notice as easily how its veering, in my opinion.
@jodyhill303 Жыл бұрын
@@JohnVHRC Great job John. I am a retired American Airlines Captain, and flew G-IV, G-V, and BBJ/737 planes afterward until covid. I do not have a Tailwheel endorsement because in the 1960s & 1970s that did not exist, so I was grandfathered in. Do you know when the FAA created the Tailwheel Endorsement? Also, I am sure RC is much more difficult. In the T-6, the instructor sits in the rear seat. So, if you could see the runway on landing, you were not on it (especially at night). I did have to make a dead stick landing at night from the back seat due to an engine fire. Turned out it was a stack fire (too rich mixture) and not an engine fire.
