I love how The Transcended One spreads his hands as if accepting The Nameless One into his home before declaring that he'll die (AGAIN!) like a grumpy man. Absolutely well executed scene in my opinion.

I know this is old, but in actuality it's a bit more complicated then that. His primary motivation is to be as far away from the Nameless One as possible. If the Nameless One finds him they can merge and he will cease to exist as a separate being. Granted, he kills people that could link to him and is indirectly responsible for all the shades chasing you throughout the game (And thus causing a bunch of souls constant agony), but the Transcendent One I believe is considered "True Neutral" due to his very benign goals and motivations.

He's the part of the Nameless one that actually dies, at least physically. He's looking the part, put simply.

The thorny look of the armor is a reference to Ravel and her Black-Barbed Maze. She cast the spell that made him.
