Your shoutouts for my channel have been hugely appreciated ❤… your commentary is always spot on… I’ve said this elsewhere: Frontier gave us some great ingredients in this game, we just gotta cook… we can cook up some tasty stuff from day1, but the utensils really need work to make the kitchen a joy vs a struggle. Here’s hoping 2025 brings a joyful experience for all players! Have q great one.🎉

So how am i supposed to „cook“ a duelling coaster when frontier didnt even think about adding that base feature of synchronized ride starts? People keep bringing up the point of „they gave us a good base to work with“ but when you literally spend hours and hours for days in the game you start to notice that the advertised „limitless creativity“ just doesnt match up with the delivered product 😢

I really wish they would bring all the scenery items over from PC1 so I could make a spooky or western water park. I feel like any Theme Park game needs to have the 5 basic decor themes: Fantasy, Future, Western, Spooky, & Adventure.

the game has potential, hopefully they can realize that potential to its fullest soon.

I didn't buy PC1 until 2022. I was loosely following PC1 pre-release in 2016 when a bunch of the Cities: Skylines channels I was watching back then started playing, but I never bought PC1 because I only had a macbook back then and had just gotten C:S the year before. That being said, I went from basically not playing videogames at all pre-2022 to just under 1000 hours in PC1 over the last 2 years. So I definitely fell in love with PC1. I started watching videos on what people were building in Planet Coaster in mid 2022 before I bought the game and was blown away by it all. Then when I finally got the game and tried playing it, I was shocked at how janky some of the tools were. Pathing was super trick, and I'm super picky, so I spent HOURS just trying to get my pathing in a state that I was happy with. I had no ideas how to build coasters ,and then as I learned, I started getting frustrated with how hard it was to smooth and move track. And I was bummed at how limited the train customization was. So for me, all the newer more powerful tools in PC2 make it super worth it. The new path tool is just about as powerful as I could've hoped for. The coaster builder being smoother and having more movement options is gonna save me SOOOO much time. I literally imagined a system where you could add scenery to trains but thought that would be wayyyyy too much to ask for and then BAM they made it real. The one big complaint for me still is just that the UX is so much less streamlined compared to PC1 and PZ. But I'd much rather spend 2 seconds spamming ESC where I never needed to in the last 2 games just to un-select something than spend 4 hours trying to smooth a coaster, and 3 hours placing roof tiles in the ground to fake a plaza because I couldn't just shape the path how I wanted.

LOL, look closely at the scene at 16:15. Watch the peeps walking on the sidewalk of the pool nearest to the camera....did you see him?

PlanCo 2 certainly did start off on a bumpy road heading towards a cliff, i just hope for the sake of coaster people it doesn't drive off it it in 2025.

Its's absolutely hilarious to watch some people get yeeted through the pool from around 15:00 to 16:15 xD Probably a bug or am I missing something? Otherwise a very good video. Sums up my experience aswell.

Weather & seasons feels like it’s intended to be a paid DLC. They could add temperature considerations and pool heating etc as a free update, and add other parts like seasons and weather implications (snow, etc) as a paid DLC with new ride types, mechanics (clearing snow, rain shelters, etc), and decorations (snowmen, pumpkins, etc). They could make certain elements more popular in different seasons (eg pools in summer, new spooky theme stuff popular in autumn, etc.).

5:13 I'm actually the opposite; really, REALLY good at building coasters (and re-making pre-built coasters), but struggle to effectively build & use scenery items

I've been in a similar boat. When I first launched the game - it was VERY disappointing; slides were literally not working, many management issues,... and the "style" they chose (but that's their decision). I took a step back, and continuously told myself - I should judge the game for what it is, not for what it could have been, otherwise I will be forever disappointed and angry. A few days ago I started playing again - update 1 fixed many things, and I am now in a position where I actually enjoy playing the game - and I foresee a bright future for the game - we will get there, it won't be smooth, but we should also enjoy the ride, literally.

I get that you know the people that work at Frontier and you believe they are good programmers/passionate people but for me its cazy that good people with passion for this game can make so many mistakes. Just a small one: I believe if you ever played the first planet coaster game for more than a few hours you would never forget to add glass pieces to the game as a dev for the sequal. This could have been a copy past from pc1 but for some reason it wasnt in this game. It wouldnt have taken much time, that cant be the excuse here. Thats the worrying part for me; i dont know if Frontier has the correct people on the job.

i know where you are coming from, but if you need to release a game, maybe 6-9 month earlier than what youd say, these mistakes happen to the best...

I gotta agree so much with this video. I feel like the community is being overly greedy rather than realistic in the launch of the game. There are logical areas like game functionality that we can scream about, but all these greedy "I want this" is a conversation for DLCs and Updates, not for base game. I will say, Frontier seems to be listening, and I hope they will continue to invest heavy into this game: let's definitely fix the errors of the gameplay, and be more realistic on our DLC launches (5 rides, no theme is not worth the price marketed). I feel like Frontier isn't paying attention to it's strengths with Planet Zoo in advancing a sequel. There were two styles of DLCs in Planet Zoo: Animal and Theme. The same can be invested (and then some) for PlanCo2. I feel like they should be rotating between Ride DLCs (Similar to Animal), Theme DLCs (with up to 5 rides/flumes), and potentially Waterpark DLCs.... there is potential on the last one, but both community and developers need to invest their time into research to understand where that potential lies. Yes, Frontier missed the mark big time on this first DLC launch, if we can really call it that. Guess what, they did the same in PlanCo1 with the first mini-three DLCs that we've all forgotten about. And arguably, the same expectation level was there for PlanZo and it's roll out. It's funny how we gain love for the game as momentum continues but relay hate as a foundation for that momentum. It's very "American" (oop!). So basically, I'm having blind faith and hakuna my tatas that Frontier will get there. My only real gripe is that at the end of game development, will Frontier continue their cycle of dropping too early and leaving us feeling abandoned. It's a very toxic relationship, psychologically, but clearly Frontier has found the moneys honeys in that.... or have they? (Noting financial poop of last year for them.... hinting to Frontier heavily here to see this comment and realize where the problem is: company culture aka narcissism and capitalism and the children it presents, aka the negative results).

to be honest, if they pull a planet zoo strategy here, call me in. Personally i think it was the perfect balance. And for so. many. years. Regarding the DLC in planco 1, it was a forced on from the universal contract (munsters etc.) - and way cheaper in comparison. What stood out the most for me is the huge contrast between the teams passion and the release state of the game. Which clearly wasnt the devs decision to launch it like that.

I think its judt a shame and dissapointment that we are left with the current state of the game for the holidays. Guests have terrible pathfinding following certain lines from point a to b, no set timer to trigger fireworks once at certain time, load and unload station feels limited because you literally have to place 3 entrance gates on one single station, staff not doing their work, features like coaster cars exchange missing, no friction settings, no custom media at all, weather feels terrible like rudi already once explained (totally missed the potential here), constant random crashes, various objects that dont even align (did frontier even play their own game?), some rocks have terrible repeating textures, the xtreme mack spinner from the dlc constantly clipping through the rails, feature for synchronized coasters starts also forgotten for some reason, flatridrs bugging out so guests cant board nor leave queue and you dont even notice it untill you see it, notifications ingame are terribly tedious because even when turning off they reset to „on“ when reloading, notifications telling me guests find my ridetime to long on a coaster which has no entrance or exit and only runs in testing mode (because its my parade), trees and other foliage have texturals problems, UI still is terrible to navigate, game sometimes doesnt react to key inputs, coloring is judt tedious and time consuming, sometimes foliage keeps flashing on edges of the screen, cant set doors to trigger open for x amounts of seconds, perfomance hit starts around the same piece count as planco 1 so no real improvement there, queue paths always slightly changing in height even though you didnt change their settings, paths randomly create holes when placing them into each other, pools are completely broken sometimes and just stop working at random times, prestige system is really bad (ride is already old after 3 days), prestige reach „classic“ level but displays your ride as old anyways… Man i could go on for so much longer but my point is not to hate or spread negativity, but many people keep denying the current state of the game and labeling valid critic as „haters“. It just makes me even more sad because our community was so amazing during planco1 lifecycle. Frontier was also much more connected to the community and our feedback in planco 1, at least thats what i felt. After 500 hours im currently done with planco 2 for the moment. Ive started my megapark, built 2 full areas and i just didnt have nearly as much fun as in planco 1 where i was constantly overwhelmed by creativity and fun…

The original team that worked on PC1 is long gone from Frontier. I guess my expectations were/are more forgiving than most. I know any issues will be fixed. I have had zero crashes/performance issues on PC. I would rather have the game with its imperfections now than having to wait 6 months. That’s just me.

I don’t agree with your view on scenery. They could’ve just ported it over with the new themes, like Jurassic World 2 adding all the dlc dinosaurs from 1. The game is lacking in scenery. Just compare the number of animatronics from 1s launch to 2.
@RudiRennkamel
@RudiRennkamel Ай бұрын
No I politely disagree. You can do so much with the ingame sets, plus they are much better than the ones from 1, quality wise. Scenery is not the issue. Obv more is always better.

the game is absolutely not lacking in scenery. With just the scaling tool alone you can build basicly every theme there is.
@bravoyankee1632
@bravoyankee1632 Ай бұрын
@@lhmagix873 I feel that’s a cop out answer. Sure you can spend hours building these themes, but no entertainers or animatronics to make these themes viable, or even different biomes for that matter.
@bravoyankee1632
@bravoyankee1632 Ай бұрын
@@RudiRennkamel thank you for politely disagreeing however it is why I personally stopped playing the game. I built my ocean themed ride, and my viking themed ride and that’s it. I could do so much more with 1s scenery and that is just me personally. Frontier have backed themselves into a wall because a lot of the content from 1 is generic theme park scenery. And if frontier adds a spooky pack to 2 we will be paying for the same items again. I respect your opinion but for me to put time into 2 I want more options. Not less options and having to create my own items without entertainers, scenery, and at this point in time my own custom music. Thank you again for responding, have a great day!

@megaplexXxHD Ай бұрын
I do agree with you on this point. Just the number of animatronics alone goes to show the serious lack of content we have right now. Add on top of that we dont have any real diversity in pieces, just look at the roof pieces where we have a serious lack of roofs (for example tower spire roof completely missing). You end up with buildings all looking really similiar (vikings for example, most of the builds from players look identical because lack of pieces). Frontier did copy over some pieces so i dont understand why they couldnt port them all over and at least give us the base themes from 1 added ontop. The lack of victorian pieces is also missing very badly as those could be used in different themes for mainstreet, steampunk and whatnot. In planco 2 creating a authentic minstreet style takes you to 1000 pieces per building because you have to create everything yourself, which just doesnt make sense. Yes you cant create different themes but is it really the goal of the game to use 500 pieces for a spire roof when we could actually just have such a singular roof piece? And im not even gonna start about the countless bugs and missing features i notices after 500 hours on planco 2. currently off the game because everything just feels more tedious, exhausting and takes so much more tume to build…

Not sure I agree about the graphics and lighting. I feel PC1 looked much better. pC2 is creative looks cartoony and the colours and contrast is too high, they need to add options to tone things down and lower the contrast so you can see the detail, if it's there.
