Welcome back Overloaders, thank you for joining me on another episode of Planet coaster 2 or I will be talking about the pathing system it's good points and possible bad points. In regards to the pathing, I don't believe there is a priority system as far as AI goes. It seems to me that they are using something similar to an A* algorithm for path finding so because it's looking for the shortest distance to a location, all guests will have similar paths if they have similar destinations. It was actually the same problem that was in PlanCo1. To fix it, just spread out destinations in the park and then people will spread out more as they move to their destination.

I kinda feel they also have missed an opportunity when they said there will be no hotels in planco 2. It would be nice to have a hotel and only the guests get access to the area withing the borders of the hotel. Like get a booking at the hotel and only guests can pass through the barrier to the pool area. Maybe there could be area limits too. Like available spots in a pool, because I remember with RCT3 splash my pools would be full to Chinese summer standards and it looked fun but not very realistic.

I hate when sequels are missing things from the first game, I want almost everything from PC1 in 2 plus a lot more. We will probably get more content through regular updates and expansion packs. At least we are getting water park stuff at launch.

@@robkrasinski6217 i dont. Bcs i dont want straight loading Station for the Rapids. I dont want this ugly cammel back before the first drop on log flumes. I dont want flatrides with that huge space they need. So they better rework certain attractions

Maybe the pathing issue is because there's nothing for the guests to do over that side of the path? I'm really not sure which rides were on test mode or what the whole demo map looks like, so it's possible that the guests are simply pathing the most efficient way to the rides on that side of the park? Dunno. But it doesn't realistic either way.

True, and it's also possible that that particular park file was just opened up and allowed guests in, and that's why they're all filtering in like that. But like I said in the video until we actually get the game and try it out and see how it is we can only go by with what we're seeing with what they released and what they said. That's why it's a little concerning for me but from what I've seen so far I'm liking a lot of the gameplay and I would like to see more and I will definitely be playing it and checking it out.

I think you are wrong with the priority system the guests taking on the path. Cause when we think back to planco1, they always took the shortest route to get to an attraction. If nothing else is on the other side, they avoid walking there. But u can clearly see certain guests walk where its not crowded. And you have to consider the fact that the KI needs to comprehent suddenly new paths popping up, to then walking on it. I do think we are fine. So by that said: everything comes down to the way you set your attractions and path

If I see this right, the priority thing is only for overlapping paths... Yea, the AI wants the shortest path creating this crowd. That's also why it forms at this corner (because the short path gets smaller)

Aye like the new pathing system,But textures look downgraded. It looks more like a rollercoaster tycoon path. It doesn't look 3D or reflect light

Remember it’s an early version, it’ll probably change by the time the full game is out

True, but it is an early development build, so we're not seeing everything yet, and Frontier has proven themselves when it comes to the planet coaster and Planet zoo series. So I'm inclined to believe that we'll see it be even better leading up to the release date

I think you should talk about what roller coasters you want to see in planet coaster 2 what I want is a 4d free fly coaster like the joker at Six Flags Great Adventure also they should create a drop tower like the one on kingda ka at Six Flags Great Adventure also first

I was actually going to have a video on The Coasters out soon it was probably going to be about the second or third episode. That one's going to be a bit lengthier, so I'm holding it back for the 2nd or 3rd episode next to be released.

Decorating flat rides could be done in planco already. Just not the moving parts, which is something I like. I used to build rideskins all the time. You would need to start building outside of the ride and then start moving parts over the ride. This one will be easier to use. I hope to get my creativity back by the time this one comes out. Totally burnt out on planco because I felt I could do nicer things and it would no longer work out the way I wanted.

Let's hope the electricity thing is optional. Those were one of the things that made me not like Planet Zoo, too much micromanagement.

@KazuyaYuza, true, I can understand how some people might not like all that micro-management type of a scenario in their game. However though in Planet Zoo, you can disable all those options within the sandbox but still have it where you can still have a budget, etc. You can just have the options that you want turned on within the sandbox mode that you're playing.

@@realityoverload Fair enough. The only downside is that the campaign (can't recall if it was called like that) still enforces it, I think. But well, we'll see. Maybe it's not as bad is I had it in mind. Rest looks good tho. Nice video btw, subbed.

When I say AI I'm referring to the computer program that tells where the people to go it controls the people within the game it controls the rides Etc in turn it's a form of an AI. But it's not the same type of AI in which everyone has been using to make stuff up, this one has to be programmed on what things need to be done and when they need to be done and that then AI or computer program runs that program and ensures everything runs the way it was programmed to do. It may even be programmed to make calculations on its own to determine the quickest path for one of the guests within the park to get to the location that it wants to get to.
