Managment is not a feature I personally look forward too much as I'm very much a sandbox builder,but I'm happy if those ppl who enjoy it get their improvements. As a builder I would love to see some tranfer tables for coasters and backstage areas tho and I do want to build some shade.

of course Planet Coaster established itself mostly as a sandbox game with a huge community, but it still officially is a park management game and besides the sandbox building from time to time I really like to play the missions and challenges, even if they are too easy or you cannot really make a lot, I always wanted more micromanagement like in Parkitect!

Please, please, please, NO area of effect bubbles for transformers. I LOATHE it in Planet Zoo. It makes no sense, complicates construction, and constantly shrinks without ridiculous levels of maintenance. Real life has wires for power distribution.

What is cool is that they could've just made a Waterpark tycoon or made it an expansion, but they didn't. They put it all in one, which is great.

As long as they dont skimp on the other stuff. Given the piecemeal way they did rides in PC1 and how lacking the overall quantity was, I'de have preffered larger expansions with dedicated themes, let them actually go deep on the subject and give enough rides and systems that you get a whole water park as an option rather than just kinda do it so you can have 'water park corner' and thats it.

I like the idea of the shade mechanic. I wonder if they will make the pools closed during storms? That happens where I live. I would also like to see some more elements to landscape maintenance -- such a huge part of the labor involved in theme parks that is basically ignored, flowers take more maintenance than bushes which take more maintenance than trees, etc. For lifeguards they should require mandatory training.

That would be cool, but it shouldn't affect just pools, some coasters close down in parks because of weather, so it would make sense for that to happen here too.

I would like to see the safety nets connected to the coaster tracks much like the catwalks. So we no longer need to build them custom. If the game knows to place them when over pathing. That would be cool. Could also be another management element.

I would love a more freely buildable electricity system! With solar panels that are buildable like glass panes for example, so you can have a roof full of working solar panels without having to connect this very big box, and the electrician access. Maybe with a system similar to the planet zoo one, but kinda reversed, so you can build a „electricity-relay“ or something similar on the ground, with an „influencing zone“ around it (just like it is atm in planet zoo) in which all the solar panels that happen to be in this sphere, are collecting the electricity, and are also repaired only at this relay station, removing the need of adding a path connection to every. Single. Cell. It might not be THAT realistic, but I think this could be a cool balance of freedom, realism and difficulty!

I love the idea of shade management in the queue area being able to place a fan to help cool your quests or heaters to keep them warm. I do feel the first aid station needs to be improved, at the moment its just something you place down and forget, but if people get sunstroke or sunburn, they could attend the first aid station and a member of staff who is first aid trained would leave there current position and head to the first aid station. I noticed in a screenshot a Viva La Vegan food stall i wonder what other new food and drink vendors there will be.

Looks like shade might be a need: "It's too hot. I wish there was some shade around here." And, it might drive people to a shaded bench over an unshaded bench. Also, sunburns if too hot? Med Facility just got some customers.

I think more emphasis on the peeps doing things like talking to each other in groups onthe side of paths and things like that would really add to the realism aspect.

I wish that the how crowded and long a queue was would also affect riders choosing whether or not to stand in the queues. Like for example your ride at 9:42, with that large visible queue area, it should make some people not want to get in the queue for that ride because it would seem to them that it would take too long to get on the ride. So that means you would be encouraged to hide the real length of the queue so people walking by wouldn't know beforehand how long the queue is and would be "tricked" into getting into the queue, you should also be encouraged to make the queue interactive and more interesting so people wouldn't choose to just leave the queue.

I have a (long) question for you, not completely related to management, but I hope you may have noticed it during the first look. In Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo, guests often get stuck in places for quite a long time when multiple groups collide with each other because they are programmed to take the actual shortest route, which always is in tight corners on your paths. Also they sometimes even despawn or the game really gets crazy and makes guests walk/glitch back and forth for hours and you have to restart your game or delete all the guest groups manually. (This problem is bigger in PZ than in Planco to my knowledge). Have you seen any improvements in this now they've redone the whole pathing system? Thanks for your video's, always very informative :)

I was hoping the game supports ray tracing since that automatically makes the game aware of where shade is, as well as makes it possible for dark rights to actually be dark and have realistic lighting.

@@RudiRennkamel yeah it doesn't support it as is. And I don't know how well ray tracing works with environments that aren't set in stone. Still the lighting in Zoo was already a lot better than Coaster 1.

Very excited for the new management features to help scult and challenge designs with realism (great for a portfolio!). I will say that having worked on building attractions IRL, the power supply does actually translate semi-well. Maybe not exactly to the simplistic format the planet games have, but there are transformers and power ports at each attraction that then kindof link up to the backstage area you're thinking of. Usually these power units are pretty well hidden within the attraction's footprint, or they are small in scale that you don't really register them as a guest. The way the planet games develops them they funnel all the intricate sized stuff to one little block and then expand the footprint that would reach to. Think of it as a skeleton that is put in one place (PlanCo) vs. the bones being spread about a larger area (IRL). I'll be curious to see what other management features come as they further develop the game, because there's quite a lot I can think about that would make the gameplay more fun, and also help sculpt our thought on how to develop ride design in a realistic essence of approach.

I'd find it interesting to have the possibilities to create your own renewable energy with batteries maybe even. So you can utilise sunny regions better Vs staying to the grid in other regions. Would even make the biomes more interesting

I could see that as a good trade off. You can connect to the grid, it would be simpler and require less management, but would be more expensive. Whereas alternatively you can set up your own generators for a one time fee but will have to connect them up to rides and perform maintenance on them. So one option that costs recurring fees for those that don't want the fine-grained management, and another option for those that do want more intricate management.

My big concern here is that what us simulation players have been asking for is a better tycoon simulation, a better economic simulation. Frontier seems to think that micro-management = simulation depth but they are two completely different things :(

It is logical to add a more realistic activity in the inputs to PC2. I mean seeing the way customers arrive at our parks... car, taxi, bus, train. Create our parking or even a city map. In PC1 there were many of us who edited realistic entries simulating arrival and parking stations, but everything fixed without movement or circulation is a shame

My prediction is it being that they’re using a lot of pieces from planet zoo for planet coaster2 chances are a year or two later they’re going to come out with a planet coaster3 which allows you to add not only theme parks, but also water parks, and also zoos combined just like roller coaster, tycoon three platinum, I am waiting for Them to do all that because when it comes to combining three different sections, such as theme, park, waterpark and zoo, you can really be creative, just like as you, or anyone else could be creative in roller coasters tycoon3 soaked expansion not to mention adding zoos.

i do remember planco had a real lack of management options and the npc pathing npc are predictable and will go on any ride no matter how insane it is rides break down but never crash let me take you back to RCT1/2 guess will have more restrictions and wont go on some rides if its to scary lol oh and rides could break down and XD your guess coster can blow up guess complaints if you dont take care of them will hurt your park i want planco 2 to be the ultimate theme park game cant wait to try it out hell be cool if they just combine planet zoo and planet coaster that would be sooo cool

Building shade seems meaningless; you can easily place floating ceilings without worrying about costs. I have the same feeling for Parkitect, when it comes to giving the ride ability to operate during thunderstorms.

Well it always depends on how you implement it. Say, if you need to take maintenance into account of sunshades or so, or pieces are realistically expensive it does make a difference. Or a factor that increases cost depending on how man's sqm are covered etc

If the management would be realistic... (and not the crap they have with Planet Zoo or Planet Coaster, where you have to build dozens of generators or other stuff around the park...). But to be honest, I usually play in sandbox for 99-100% of the time (my only reason for using franchise in Planet Zoo was/is the ridiculously bad chance to get any albino/leucistic/etc animals in sandbox...). So as long as everyone who wants to have it is happy and it doesn't limit my work in sandbox...I'm fine with it. I just hope that the system requirements are not completely different from Planet Coaster or Planet Zoo🙈.
