I've seen some content creators place their ore extractors just outside the caves, which is more convenient. For those people who unlock the Butterfly Dome well before 5 GTi, there are some secret butterflies to find! What's interesting about the Beehives is that they're the second best source of Plants in the game, so be careful where you place your Plants Multiplier Fuses, until you unlock T3 Tree Spreaders. I think the Iridium cave and rift canyon vines appear before than the route to the waterfall and beach. Golden Crates deconstruct to an Aluminium (not Iron) and a Super Alloy of course.

Thanks for the pointers. There are caves that you can build extractors outside like the Uranium cave in paradise valley and the iridium cave in canyon.

Good morning from Texas! Another solid video in this series for you, Surtr! I will usually make outposts in a biome as well, but what I usually do is pick up all the stuff on the ground because I know I will be using it, eventually. Plus, it helps me play the game at a slower pace because I tend to 'speed run' because of how much I've played this game. My first outpost is always the aluminium biome so I can manufacture super alloy and not struggle to find it. Just makes it easier to rid myself of all the 'scrap' from ore extractors and make it into a more productive ore. The Valley, as I call it, sure has changed with the 1.0 update, hasn't it? I used to put a base there as well so I could put flowers and other items because it was such a blank 'canvas'. Now with all the rock formations, flora, and trees, not so much. But it sure is stunning to see. Looking forward to your explorations of all the other biomes.

Thank you very much @GongaDuck. A lot has changed. I have done a couple of speed runs and going slow is challenging, but this series is to try and help players old and new. I may very well do another playthrough on a much tougher custom game later.

I am at where you are. I still need to raid the rainbow caves to pick up some of the new crystals. I also need to visit that pink shroom cave again, then finish up there. I'm firing off rockets to push oxygen and plants higher, but I haven't bothered to go beyond 3 rockets each for heat and pressure. It is a good way to get more uranium or iridium (good luck trying to pluck them from the rubble lol). When I started to put down T2 uranium power generators, I thought I was set. I wound up with 5 to 6 of those lol. Now that I have fusion generator, power is no longer an issue. Though I am getting to the point where I need another fusion generator. Putting 2 T2 ore extractors in the super alloy caves really helps. I think I picked up every one of those off the ground at this point. I found the butterfly dome confusing. I thought it worked like the tree dome did. It turns out you need to create the butter fly larva and put it in the interface of the dome's computer. I wonder what would happen if I put a tree seed in the tree dome (probably won't work).

The 'tree' dome doesn't take anything. It supplies bark so I'm afraid that will not help you. It sounds like you are doing quite well though. Keep it up and thank you for watching.

Great video as usual. I hadnt noticed the part about climbing vines, very nice. I also hadnt realised that some flowers can only be collected, ive already unlocked recipes that use them so handy to know i need to go foraging.

Now i know what the new cristals or for. You have a mining drill on the super aloi. I have yet to build one there, bud. i have more super alloys than i can shake a stick at. I get a super alloy storm now and again, filling up more than a locker.😊

Don't forget all those Golden Seed you have sitting in Vegetubes. They aren't doing much for you now, and can be converted into 350% multiplier Pleom tree seeds in the DNA manipulator with a Mutagen and a Tree Bark, and then stuck in a Tree Spreader. (Pleom tree seed doesn't require an unlock, it's just an unlisted recipe)

I've also made nice progress, got to oxygen stage, hit t3 miners and tree spreaders (T2 spreaders currently locked :) )

I have to learn using the auto-crafter with drones and storage, just seen others fiddle with it. Setting up a trading system too. Also DNA and incubator are things to understand.

I made it to 1.52 TTI today. Making close to mammals. Frogs are coming nicely those T2 boosters for resources is huge! Nice video bro!! 🎉

i never use the super alloy sand cave with extractors, once the super alloy meteor showers begin, you literally get a full inventory every shower. You need to head towards the lava region to active them.

That is interesting but I believe you are right. I go there in Episode 10 and the sky starts falling.

in the sand waterfall area two flowers from what I recall as a starter for 10

There are a few around. The plateaus in the canyon, paradise valley and there is even one somewhere near the entrance to the super alloy cave.

@@surtrplays I believe there are nine of each, but these days you can also find them in crates (maybe only in procedural wrecks, I can't remember offhand).

Does using the water filter make you drink more water? I don't know if it is just me or not, but it seems like I am drinking more water when drinking from lakes than bottles....

As far as I am aware it shouldn't matter what your water source is, the consumption rate is the same. I honestly haven't thought about it.
