It's not slow, even in both PSP (12.5bps) and NPPL (15bps), it keeps up perfectly fine. It is hardly outdated, as a matter of fact it jams less than any other loader I've ever used. Jams less than the Prophecy, jams less than the Rotor, I've put hundreds of cases through it without ANY issues or jams. Plus, it weighs less than a pound and holds two full pods full of paint. Rotor holds one, prophecy holds one, pinokio holds two pods. For my playing style, it works awesome. Ever see it jam? Nope

actually no, in most cases, the higher profile works to my advantage. With just a slight tilt, I can easily hide it behind the bunker, and it also makes it easier to see around it. With lower, wider hoppers, I have to tilt the gun in more, and I have to lean out more to see around the loader. For me, thin and tall works better than wide and short for loaders. But the capacity is what I love the most, being able to load up two full pods allows me to shoot for almost 25 seconds without reloading

Mike is one of the only reviewers on youtube that puts out reviews worth watching. Most are a waste of time where some spoiled rich kid spends 10 minutes rambling aimlessly about the gun and comparing it to their other expensive markers they broke because they don't have a clue how to do maintenance on them, and generally spew factual inaccuracies. Mike shows how to take apart the gun, weighs it, tests the efficiency, and plays with it and gives his impression with a pretty open view. Priceless.

Out of all the super guns you did Mike, this is probably the only gun worth calling super.

The Etek4 is good because it is easy to fix and maintain. However if you had the choice try to either get an axe, a reflex rail, or a used older model ego like an ego 10 or 11. Hope this helps.

Mike You should do a top 3 gun show of your personal favorites You've shot and played with so many guns so a top 3 show with your opinion could be very valuable to a lot of people You could maybe break it into a couple different shows for price category like a $100-$400 show, a $400-$800 show and a $800 + show or something or divide it into poppet valve vs spool valves? Just an idea

it's really preference, go to your local field and ask people if you can try their gun and see if you like it.

He used to like/shoot egos. He also used to gripe that poppet valve guns were his preference because spool valves shoot lube into the barrel, and get bolt stick excetra. Oh well. That gun is a VERY clever design. I still really do enjoy my good ol' stacked tube classic poppets. I can wrap my thump around the barrel on my ego 11.

I was in the same situation. I too have and etha. I wanted a really good quiet gun, and because people said this was quieter and soft shooting (better than a geo) I ended up getting an lv1

I got my LV1 recently and I am in love.. I love Geo's but this has made me come to the dark side! It's so weird shooting this marker, its almost like its running out of air but its still shooting 290's! Seriously this marker rocks.
@DMetal1311 жыл бұрын
To everyone complaining about the look of the rubber on it, it's for ergonomics and you don't even see it while playing since your hands are around it...
@b0hem0th11 жыл бұрын
It was to test the air efficiency of the gun. The reason he stopped shooting before the tank was completely empty was because as the tank's air pressure gets extremely low, there is not enough pressure for the gun to propel the paintball to its set velocity and the paintball's range and force begins to decrease. He is trying to test the PLAYABLE efficiency range of the LV1.
@austinftwXD11 жыл бұрын
didn't you play with a vice in like 08-09?
@Culane11 жыл бұрын
Good depends on your budget, and your desire to maintain the marker (which is really easy if you care to), and your desired style of play. Mechanical or Electro is good in the woods, but only electro-pneumatic markers are good for speedball.

I actually did more than that, I actually did a sinus rinse before doing the video. I was sick, Planet Eclipse needed their LV1 back, and they were sending me daily emails asking for the LV1 back. So I had to film the show when I was sick :-(

To test the air efficiency of the marker, you have to see how many paintballs you can shoot on a 68ci 4500psi tank with a normal field velocity. Now people know how much paint they can take on the field with them and what to expect from the gun while competing.

Nice review though that efficiency test does leave questions. Especially after watch Hustle paintball do the same test and get about 1800 shots (approx 13 pods). Perhaps they had in a different rammer....I don't know. But I'm sure as more tests come out we will get clearer understanding

Been using a Marq victory and slammed it a few times without ever having a leak. I will never go back to macro if i can help it . Gas through grip has much less hassle. If i ever slammed hard enough to undermine the frame on my marq then i'll probably have to pay hospital bills too.

Great review, i believe under exact circumstances the ego would've been at or higher than the 9 pod margin the g6r was at when you tested it. Especially considering greenspan got 10+ on it. Still though, great review, love how you explained the macro issue, i know alot of people were worried about it being in the way, myself included.

Go to a proshop and try out wat they have. If you don't have access to one, I highly recommend going to techpb.com and asking people there! They have a great community and will be more than willing to answer your questions! In my personal opinion? If you like the way the Ego Lv1 looks, it's an amazing gun. It's a poppet that shoots like a spool, hands down the best choice! I am assuming you have all the necessary gear (mask, hopper, tank) because you're buying a supergun!

Nice review. I'm just wondering is paintball dying? I just got into it about 3 months ago and am hooked. Totally bought into this hard. I just don't see a whole lot of advertisement for this industry. I'm hoping it gets bigger as time goes on. I absolutely love this sport. Keri's me in shape and my 2 daughters want to play as well. They are 12 and 15.
@MrRubberduckyFilms11 жыл бұрын
So mike, I have been watching your videos for so long now, and I want to know why do you use the pinokio, not the Rotor, Z2, Spire, or any other hopper.
@jacksonwilliams249811 жыл бұрын
Mike had a hot fill, not at 4500. That actually make a huge difference. A hot fill can cool from 4500 to 3800. A cold fill 4500 is a much larger amount of air than a hot fill. Also he didn't stop to dump pods in like Ryan or hustle did.
@SDUndisputedTeam11 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't even upgrade a spyder. I recommend upgrading to a whole different gun. Invert Mini? GoG eXTCy? Proto Rail? All grade low end guns. -Tyler

\/ good point \/ and why the change of place for the efficiency test?
@we4ks4uc11 жыл бұрын
If you're just getting into paintball I wouldn't recommend making a high price purchase already. If you want a good gun and save you some money I would probably go with the Empire Axe or the Etek 4. But if you have the money and you think you're going to be playing a lot the LV1 is probably the gun mostly everybody wants.

one thing doesn't add up to me i don't know if anyone else noticed but i did not expect only 8 pods out of that gun assuming it's a 68 4500 and on a previous video a dm13 shot 10 pods on a 68 4500 assuming. not sure if that is necessarily bad considering less maintenance. But i thought better efficiency than a spool valve.

Flippit: I understand no two markers will achieve the same efficiency. There are too many outside factors. What I'm saying is that most 3rd party "efficiency" tests have yielded anywhere from 8-10 pods. Granted there haven't been that many tests but those numbers are great, for a spool valve gun. If I wanted buttery smooth and 8-10 pods ill use my GT. People have come to expect better numbers from poppets.

Yes, youtube is known as a bastion of politeness and manners. He has a life and job, but he also makes money off of this. He's an accountant, and not stupid. His forum/website generates money, this youtube account generates money, and he resells the markers on markerbids. It doesn't hurt anything but his schedule to make reviews, he isn't losing money on them. Thus my urging to get to the reviews when we have a lot of new markers dropping around the same time. I don't trust anybody else's
