my thought is that when the ship crashed, the ship didn't actually crash right away, if it did, why is there so many dead humans on the ship? why were the robots on the ship seemingly still caring for children even after the eventual crash. And most importantly, why was there no other use of technology (aside from the old man) on the planet. instead, I think the ship didn't make it to the planet, either running out of fuel or hitting some sort of asteroid near the planet. The humans either had to stay on their ship. or use the escape pods to land on the planet. Eventually, the ship did crash however, the captain, is nowhere to be seen only leaving the controller. This leads me to believe that the robot captain somehow stayed in space. But why would he stay up there? perhaps he was planning something. He was in charge of caring for the humans, so, perhaps he used whatever wreckage was left of the ship to build a new ship and eventually find a way down to earth to protect the humans. thousands of years pass. I think that the giant mothership AI is actually the upgraded version of the Captain, still trying to fulfill his directive. That's why every robot on the planet can still be controlled by the controller, and why the captain, the one who was coded to be the one in charge of the controller. Takes so long to be overridden.

Looks a lot like a colourful version of "Limbo"...

Yes, for sure there is definitely some gameplay similarities

Limbo is deeply symbolic. Planet of Lana is more similar to Inside, but with a much, much more optimistic tone.

Bro you need more views man. Out of bunch of videos i have watched yours was the only one actually explained the story even a little bit. Thank you😊

Thank you! Yes, I feel like this is a story crying out for some discussion, yet nobody seems to have engaged with this video at all really!

Excellent explanation! My thought at the end was that the humans were living in peace, until the robots came along with their own definition of "world peace." Then Lana saves everyone by combining the two to achieve true harmony. Honestly forgot about the shrine pieces until watching your video 😅 Your tie-in with Scripture was also a pleasant surprise, great work and thank you!

Hey nice Video! I just finished a Letsplay (German) with a friend and I kept wondering about the backstory. I also thinks it was some sort of AI Apocalypse that drove the humans away, similar fears of what fears of AI are popping up in reality nowadays. Maybe the humans initially design an AI to protect themselves from natural desasters? But the AI got overprotective. Creatures like Mui definately seem to be some kind of tech-bio-hybrid.... Lots of thoughts...

I really hope they decide to work on a prequel at some point - feels like there's loads of potential to explore this back story.

I guess every possible ever example of sacrifice, and also of 'i wasnt really dead'/ i can come back to life, MUST be a christ reference and allegory of that one story (which by all accounts of ancient civilizations and cultures is not even close to the first time that such a pattern of a leader/special character ever was told). But sure. cute cat pet is jesus
@andygeers20 күн бұрын
At the risk of getting into a discussion that you’re clearly not interested in… but I’m not suggesting for a minute that it was intentional on the part of the developers. I’m just saying that I enjoyed it!

@andygeers I won't besmirch your choice to see anything you like that speaks to you. I enjoyed the game too. As you can see from my comment, not shitting on the idea that ppl see signs, parallels, inferences in all kinds of ways, but I'm merely posting that it seems to be verging on a trope level of repetition that for analysis, specifically done by those with religious type of faith based views, and specifically within that, christian based views, seem to throw christ analogy at anything that might stick. Keep your aslans and more, for sure. But I'd wonder what about in games story at all has any relevance to jesus. An assumed death and resurrection, alone, is pretty thin. I appreciate that you replied.
