Even if this movie wasn't as good as the 1968 film, it at least had its own unique twist instead of just refusing the "Earth all along" twist from the original. The planet is indeed alien, but the ape civilisation only exists because he indirectly created it.

Basically when they enter the wormhole, they come out in different order. The original order of entrace was Pericles, Leo and the Oberon. But the arrival to planet goes Oberon, Leo and finally Peracles. That’s why the ship is in ruins, it arrived thousands of years in the past, Leo arrives to the present and Pericles to the future (a couple of days basically) there’s a scene where General Thade finds Leo’s ship. So my guess is that after Leo left using Peracles’ ship, Thade soon followed and came out first in the distant past to change history to Ape’s image, soon followed by Leo. The statue of Apebraham Lincoln (lol) is not Thade himself but rather a descendant with the same name (he ensured that his future generations had the same name)

@@Catman1798 Yup. Helena has a sexy accent. ;) And that Daena chick was conventionally attractive for sure, but I could definitely say that Ari had a better head on her shoulders. I was rooting for Ari and Leo to end up together, especially at the end when she lets him know how she feels about him on the downlow. They also share a rather passionate kiss too and you see Ari give Leo the "come hither look". Oh well, the road not taken. v_v

Let me explain better , this movie and the Andy serkis prequels and the original 1960s movies are all connected, while mark walbarg is traveling through the wormhole , Caesar is on the Golden Gate Bridge 🌉 leading the revolution back on earth 🌍 . Mark is not on earth but on another planet , when his crew went into the warm hole 🕳️ to rescue him , he went into two wormholes which actually sent him further through time then his friends , his friends lands on the planet which and the apes 🦍 start the rebellion and kill most of the scientists but some mange to escape and the ones that do are all the ancestors of the humans that we see in this movie and all of the apes are all the descendants of the apes 🦧 that led the rebellion . When mark makes it backs to earth 🌍. He actually does go back in time but not to his time , he actually goes a little far into the future , probably after the events of the new movie kingdom of the planet of the apes (2024) . The reason I say that he travels after the events of those movies is because the ceaser trilogy for the apes is actually their version of the Stone Age , while kingdom of the planet of the apes will probably be the Bronze Age of the apes . When mark does make it back , we see the apes riding vehicles 🚗 and stuff .

The apes being descendants of the ones the ship brought I can believe, thousands of years of breeding could create a decent sized population. The humans on the ship (assuming the apes let some of them live) would not have had the numbers to create such a population. Even if the ship had as many as 500 survivors, they would inbreed themselves into extinction only after a few centuries. The original movie worked because it was earth in the distant future. There were plenty of Apes and humans in their respected gene pools to maintain their populations.

Scientists have studied the concept of what a minimum viable population (i.e., the minimum number required to allow a species to continue) would be. An MVP of 500 to 1,000 has often been given as an average for terrestrial vertebrates. Let me know if you want the source.

You didn't understand the time travel plot point of the film. The electromagnetic space storm that Oberon crew was investigating caused the people entering it to travel in time, using the "first in, last out" principle. Pericles was first in, so he came out last. A few minutes later, Wahlberg goes in, and he comes out second to last, weeks before Pericles. Finally, the Oberon accidentally enters the storm, days after Wahlberg and they come out first, thousands of years before Wahlberg and Pericles made it out.

That's true if he had never left his crew to save his chimp, none of this would of happened. His choice to go against his commander caused them to look for him and the storm escalated the evolution of the apes and helped the apes to become self aware of the experiments done to them and Semos wanted to fight back and then created Thade who despised Leo and followed him back to Earth which he took over with the apes.
