The Thinking Stone is my favorite track from Quantum and my favorite Planet X song overall. Desert Girl is definitely high up there though.

the power of Donati and Derek is overwhelming. without despise other members ( tony and company ) and bands like ELP , YES , TOOL or any other who really "created" a sound... Planet X could be the best progressive concept ever. BTW , Would be awesome if u can upload some of Quantum Factor or Ignotus per Ignotium.

ok that was good for Alex Machacek becuase I think is a very hard job try play a Holdworth's song... the world only has one Holdsworth and none can´t play a solo like him...

@Khaos427 agreed. there's only one Allan Holdsworth and we are all different and unique. Allan Holdsworth's style and compositions would be a good subject for studying and learning, but not imitating. ultimately, we see things differently, and we should have our own sound and try our very best to attain it.

Sure, but Machacek managed to create some good tones here with less gear. Those Marshall VMs are awesome amps... like an improved JCM 800/Jubilee mix. Better cleans than a Jubilee.

The solo was good, but not good like Holdsworth's was. Granted Allan was in the studio, but for all these players who are now emulating his tone & technique, I don't think anyone has or will match his unique & emotional phrasing.
