Here is a list of ideas I noticed Party liked in the comment section, and what I remember he mentioned as to DO list: - Maurya Plaza (the balcony, elephant fountain, river/pond, and bigger maze and hanging gardens, possibly a roof) - Yanasi plains (terrain work, rocks, etc..) - India train station (a bell tower?) - The arch at the entrance (possibly as a new train station) - Railroad (he mentioned some customization for the pillars?) - Lights all over the Zoo (the trees, the pathways, and partly the habitats) - Widening the pathways (oh boy...) - More beautification (adding flower beds, benches, railings) - The Memorial - Tortoise habitat (hammocks and more palms?) - Building a roof for The Tapir Tavern - The canopy in between Wolf-Rock and Bears - Reopening the Arctic Area (do I hear Darth Vader theme song?) - Turning on the trains - Adding big cats to the Zoo (tigers?) I'm sure that I missed something.😆

I love the look of the new Tapir Tavern, it was so satisfying to see it nearly finished. Remember to add the whole thing to the workzone, I personally think that repetitiveness is given when you design a building, it's the small pieces that make the difference. Like with your walls, they repeat a pattern but they are interesting because of the small decorating you did. Now let's see you get those exhibits filled and some Tigers, I cant wait to see more.

WOW!! Your Tavern can host a smaller Octoberfest - I LOVE IT! AND YOU HAVE A FIREPLACE?! This is awesome! When I realized you did not check the comment section of your previous video, I was disgruntled... Still, I finally understand your vision for the building. For the reference and roofing inspiration, you could check traditional german houses, and something from my country, an open-air museum in Slovakia. Cheers? :) EDIT: I have an idea! To break the monotonous shape of the giant roof - you could build a clock or bell tower on top of your tavern!
@eggblood5 жыл бұрын
I think better a option is to reference a wild west theme, since it america section, clock tower idea a definite ship, another iconic place insidr the zoo, maybe a reference from back to the future 3. a nice old 1900 railway stations design at the back of the saloon / tavern. Red dead redemption have a lot of reference for this. Adding a wooden balcony to the taverns should be no issues and stair going down to the desert theme enclosure coyote, foxs, deers (not sure if planet zoo offer the animals) very nice transition from america to africa desert theme towards the west of the zoo, and oasis transition further down the road. The pronghorn and bison enclosure already there, might as well go for wild wild west zoo theme.
@barbora19675 жыл бұрын
@@eggblood , I like where you are going with the old 1900 railway stations and Wild West saloon since it's right next door to Bison! Works much better than my European vision. Sadly, there are no coyotes, foxes, or deers in the game. www.planetzoogame.com/en-GB/zoopedia , see? Maybe he could have two herds of bison. The second herd as a breeding program placed right next to the Tavern. I wish Party would notice your idea, (it's good), but since he already read through these, make sure to write your comment again, under the next video, otherwise, your concept might be lost in kilometers of comments. it's nice, with an extra episode, it looks really good, with the new building, as far as the roof is concerned, you could make a terrace, like some of the roof, with tables and benches, with a trellis over, with lots of flowers I still think that you should turn the polar bears habitat into reindeer, they are not that expensive and they breed well so you can also open the train again Want more episodes, with planet zoo, pleace

I loved having a longer time-lapse! I’ve missed the time-lapses due to the lack of funds with the polar bears and then gaining money. The last few episodes have been very managerial and I’ve missed seeing the creative building that you do. Would love to see an increase in that format as well as some new exhibits being built. Also, I personally don’t think that the tavern should have a roof. I like the idea of it being an open area. Perhaps some canvas/sail roofing like what you’d see in open air markets or Christmas Markets in Germany. But with the flowers and lanterns it makes sense for the Pier to be open and not encased.

Loving the extra speed build episode! Obviously, it takes up a lot of your time, but maybe if you feel like it, you could do these more often in addition to the normal series? =) Doesn't have to be such a giant project, but maybe redesigning a habitat or smaller fixes? It would be awesome either way! As for the roof, the general style you're going for is called "Fachwerkhaus" in Germany. Maybe you can find some inspiration searching for it. Although a gigantic roof might be a bit too much :D

Holy crap, this looks awesome!! Thank you so much for spending all that extra time - it had to have been exhausting. But this looks even better than I imagined it would. You did a fantastic job! And yeah the mug of beer and the pool table were immediately recognizable even before you finished making them and I think they're super cute touches. I frickin love the way this turned out! I really love the walls, and the airways you put at top, that's such a cool touch. If you end up finding out you need more lighting in the future once the roof is on, I wonder if you could do tube lighting inset in the top layer of that airway wood blocks to give a muted glow inside/out? That may not work. Regarding the roof, I'm not sure if you'll think this fits properly with the theme but I'll throw it out there - a lot of modern bar/restaurants I know of have rooftop decks for people to sit on and enjoy the weather, and I've seen this even on pubs that are styled after older themes. Especially with the train platform already on that level, I wonder if you might consider doing half the roof as a second floor (not sure if it will allow you to do so but I assume you could if you lay pathing down first and then do a nicer texture on top) and then end the rooftop deck at the point where I think you currently have a short layer of that cool roofing from the top of the exhibits (that looks fantastic too btw!) - and then for the rest of the roof, what if it's all glass? That way the people on the train approaching Ta-Pier Tavern and the people on the roof can see down to get an idea of what's down there, and vice versa for people inside, and it gives a lot of lighting, but it wouldn't be something people can walk on. Also maybe it will draw more people off of the train. On the rooftop portion, maybe you could do a low level fence on the perimeter that's fashioned after the design of wood on concrete you have around the walls (only without the concrete and much shorter) and then you could do some tables with umbrellas or you could create your own canopy if you wanted (all your canopies have been dope lately btw). I don't know if they have string lighting available but if they do, that could be pretty on the fencing, and you could break up the texture of the fencing in the process. And/or maybe you could do some planters periodically spaced with more of those purple flowers. You could inset lighting in the posts instead, too, or even in the umbrella stands. Other possible ideas for the rooftop deck portion would be you could incorporate more fake gaming if you wanted (like bocce ball or something), some education screens dotted around, and if you really wanted to go slightly modern you could make some pretend TVs (although TVs might make more sense downstairs). Or maybe you make a fake bar on that second level too. Another possible idea, if you did part rooftop deck, is you could incorporate a small fountain/waterfall from the roof level, and have it collect in a small pool on the first floor maybe toward the center. It could give some height and movement to the area, but I feel like that might be a bit too modern of a touch for a medieval-ish tavern. On the other hand, maybe it pulls in the idea of the pier from Ta-Pier so maybe it works? Or if there's another way to incorporate the tapir aspect of that part of the zoo? I would have suggested just leaving half of the roof open but in the snow that would be a hot mess and a bad idea lol Oh also, I love the fireplace!! So cool! You should add the smoke effects to it - I don't know where it is but I know it exists because BestInShot put some smoke effects around the glowing bison. Thank you for doing this and sharing it! It legitimately made me so happy I actually almost squealed when I saw the update XD Great job overall! You're the best! I loooove how it looks from the map now too. I'm so happy lol

I was so scared from getting into a money pit from watching this playthough, so when I bought the game (100% because of watching this) I made every effort to effectivise my zoo at the cost of making it look pretty. Got 300k + now, but my zoo is not 1/10th as pretty or have as much effort put into it as yours. xD I put all staff facilities and ALL staff roads underground though. Saved me a lot of pain with the pathing system as having to connect staff paths to normal roads sucks and staff facilities dont have to be covered when they're 30m underground. Some thoughts: I discovered peafowls are a nightmare, they're basically less of an attraction and more of an infestation at this point. Turtles and basically all medium large crawlies are chill moneymakers with minimum effort. Dall Sheeps are AWESOME and will climb anything. I have a similar thing as you with sculptured terrain over a pathway except my pathway is a bridge so the terrain is much taller. Sheeps got up anyway. Exhibits aren't worth the effort unless you desperately need money. My Hippo/Croc shared habitat actually worked. But its pretty big (2000m land, 2000m water) They dont like eachother. But they are at 100% happiness had have the best habitat in the zoo so I don't care. Was an interesting habitat to build trying to make it look like the Nile. Also baby hippos swimming :3

Yes! I’ve been watching this series for a couple weeks now and have finally caught up to comment. I love this, you did a great job in making this space its own and creating unique elements for the flooring and walls. The only comment I have is that the dark border on the floor on the left of the building (by the shops) is twice as big as the rest of the border flooring so looks a bit off. Other than that, I’m so excited for the fireplace and the pool tables (even if they don’t technically work). As someone else already mentioned, I wish guests could realize how great the spaces look. Maybe for an update, the devs could introduce guest thoughts about the space or something like that because the amount of time you and other gamers spend working on scenery should be recognized. Anyway!! Looking forward to the next episode. :)

This turned out to be such a cool mini episode! It would be fun to mix these in occasionally. I found you and this series from your video on how to build enclosures when I was just browsing KZbin for some PZ inspiration. I popped in around episode 25, and I’ve been binge-watching from the beginning too (I’m around episode 15). I’m enjoying watching this series even more than playing the game myself! It’s helped me a lot to figure the game out and how to do things. I like the pace of things with some regular speed and some time lapses - it gives a taste of how much time these things actually take, but isn’t so slow that it isn’t fun to watch. I hope this series continues on for a long, long time! It’s going to be rough when I finish out the middle section and get caught up and have to wait between new episodes like everyone else.

Beautiful! Love the now look, and so happy to see this seperately, then it's not a stressing factor in the rest of the game play :D

LOVE some of the other commenters' ideas about making the roof a rooftop garden... here's my two cents: You could make a series of really beautiful pergolas ("tapir-golas"? haha) with plants growing within the latticework. A lush green roof would really break up the monotony of all the brown wood, but also complement it really nicely. The whole thing doesn't have to be plants, you can have a few squares of seating areas with dense foliage (and shops?) connected by paths. And maybe make it the way to enter the tavern via train to ensure it gets usage?

Definitely love the new look! Maybe a rooftop garden with more exhibits? That would help get people up there for the train when that is reopened!

I usually don't like speedbuild-only episodes, because while the creative side of the game is impressive it's not why I want to watch these videos. That's why I latched on to your series; I prefer your let's play style with timelapses for building stuff. That said, I enjoyed this episode and that's because of how invested I am in this series, and because I enjoy listening to your commentary. Thanks for the extra episode this week!

I think it was a good idea to put this build into its own mini episode. I can imagine it would be exhausting to have a build like this in addition to the rest of a regular episode. The tavern looks really great so far, I think it would be good to get more greenery going, maybe some South American stuff if that would fit in, to match the tapirs and the exhibit animals. Also, I don't think I've mentioned before but I always enjoy the word play in your video titles!

Thanks for the bonus episode. The tavern looks great. My recommendation for the roof would be to start with the skylights and add wood beams and a Tudor style thatching.

definitely one of my favourite builds so far keep up the good work looking forward to the next one

Take inspiration for the roof from Busch Gardens Festhaus in Williamsburg VA. big A line roof with “towers” on the corners. You can dress it up with the corner decorative pieces that hold up the roof angle.

It looks incredible! I love the passion you always put into your zoo. As for the roof, I don’t think you should box the entire thing in. Only part of it needs to be covered (and heated) for rainy days and the rest would look great as an open air beer garden type thing. Or at least use glass pieces if you want to enclose it so people can enjoy the sunshine

I’m a little late to the party here, but one thing that would make roofing easier to tackle is adding changes in geometry. Instead of one giant four sided square/rectangle you could use multi sided polygons. This always helps me make more realistic roofing without getting frustrated!
