I'm really looking forward to Broken Arrow, but I'm a little concerned about it potentially being too focused on multiplayer. Multiplayer, which I used to love and always play, has become a place where the typical player isn't someone who's learning from their own successes and failures. The average player is now more like a "pro", consuming endless videos about builds, maps, counters, etc.. What's worse is how communities often enforce this shitty behavior too; "Bruh, why aren't you using XYZ build?! Vote to kick this guy!" My 'cranky old man' rant is over now. You may continue on with your daily lives!

I am very picky about the games I play so I do a lot of research, and I have to say that Songs of Conquest is the most overhyped game of 2024 and Manor Lords, while deserving of the hype for its potential, it does not live up to the hype in its current state. Songs of Conquest has serious balancing issues, the auto calculate for battles will give you a better result than doing battles manually, the music is fine but forgettable, the writing is absolutely horrible, and despite being an old-time gamer, I did not find the pixelated graphics appealing. I would have returned this game, but I wanted to give it a fair chance, so I kept it over the 2-week period, trying multiple times to get into it but I came to the conclusion that its popularity must be due to people's nostalgia for something similar to HOMM3. As for Manor Lords, it became the first and only game I have ever refunded. It has amazing potential, but I just could not immerse myself into a world stuck in a box and I experienced so many issues trying to play it that I gave up after only 20 minutes. It needs at least another year or two in development.

Won't be s urprising if Civilization VII is -- more or less -- a failiure. People want to lead a people from start to finish. Not just bounce between civilizations. I think that might be the game's downfall, which is a shame, because that means we won't get the next iteration until p robably 2033 and a lot of Civ-players are alreeady getting up there in age.

Is it me or does Empire Eternal’s logo look very much similar to Empire Earth? Also the visuals. Can’t wait!

Espiocracy sounds really neat - as if someone took the love for Twilight Struggle tabletop game - and ran with that idea crazy, using the extra options that a PC game can give that tabletop will never emulate.

I hope Civ does the Civ change through the ages better then Humankind, humankind was a massive failure. There was a rts from the 90s I can't remember which one but it had a great civilisation age up, you start as a cave man culture, then you have an option to evolve into Asiatics, Celtic, Germanic so forth, if you were Germanic in the next age you can choose to be German, Dutch, English, Swedish so forth, once a nation state is chosen you play as them from then on. Each civ had a prerequisite and requirement making it more organic.

Civilisation 2 was the last time the franchise was "innovative". Pretty much everything since then a cash grab.
