Also, the flags are prayer flags :) "Traditionally, prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. The flags do not carry prayers to gods, which is a common misconception; rather, the Tibetans believe the prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind to spread the good will and compassion into all pervading space." -from wiki

Right now the mountains just abruptly end at the railroad track. I think the mountains should extend further east, and the train either passes through a valley or build east onto the mountain and create a tunnel to the panda stop. For your mountain peaks, just look to the horizon in game and remove every single pointed pyramid top once you sit down to shape the mountain range. Don't snow leopards need climb proof barriers? Wherever you place the gondola ride, please use it for guests to view the habitats it passes over (not around, over), not just a way to get around the zoo. Could you name the exhibits? It could continue the **punny ** themes of the habitats, but even just labeling them for what is inside (acronyms and abbreviations work) would be better that exhibit #127. Are there any more exhibits that can be placed down for the newer sections of the zoo?
@LeilaniMarie1
@LeilaniMarie1 4 жыл бұрын
Cherrykitchen i suggested that the gondola ride go through the mountains (extending the mountains east like you suggested) and that gives gondola riders exclusive views by adding “windows” (similar to grizzly grove, polar bears, and wolf rock)

The monasteries look great. I don't think having both a station and a gondola ride would hurt, it'll be cool. As for renaming all the animals, I don't think it'll be good as they'll lose their region specific names.

Another great episode! Just a few things: was reminded when you were looking at the baby tigers' genes that you have the now-mature panda with amazing genes but no partner. Since her parents are now too old to breed, maybe it would be a good idea to get her a mate? Would be a shame for her not to have a good chance to have cubs. Not sure if I mentioned it last session, but the red you're using is a bit more on the warm-toned orange side rather than the more cool toned 'Christmas-y red' (if that makes sense), which might be why it looks a bit off to people. It looks more Mediterranean than festive / Arctic. Great design though, otherwise. Both train station and gondola makes sense, because someone could hop on the train at the entrance and get the train all the way out to the leopards (and hope on a gondola, if they want to), whereas the gondola is more of a local trip and less of a practicality.

I love what you did with the "miniature" Himalayas, and the monastery looks majestic from distance as well! But the Snow Leopards are somewhat shy, and I don't think they will be thrilled to have another viewing platform, so you could: 1. Hollow-out the mountain space and put a one-way glass, so visitors can see Snow Leopards when they are resting. 2. For the resting area, you could build a partially covered monastery courtyard instead of the cave. The high roof solves the escapes routes and jumping over the wall. Also, on the side of the railroads, you can have windows (one-way glass), so people on the train get a glimpse of the leopards in the courtyard. 3. The hollowed-out space (with one-way glass) can connect to the platform overlooking both habitats from the future gondola station (or train station?). One staircase can lead from the inside of the mountain to the ground level too, on the China pavilion side, I mean. 4. On the inside of the monastery and hollowed mountain space, you could put some guest facilities, so guests are coming into the area more often. I very much like the idea of guests using the door instead of opening the space from the outside. (I mean guests walk through the door like ghosts, but that is fun too).

I made a comment with a similar idea a few minutes ago, now I read your description and I love your idea so much more than mine :) Love the connecting pathways in the mountains and the guest facilities! And totally agree with "the monastery looks majestic"!

@souriyodishak3577

I think it's worth doing the train station and the gondola because A. It'll be cool to have another form of transportation that you don't have. B. The train only goes one way from China back around through the hill station so anyone getting on the hill station (which should be kept for sure as another landmark area) would have to go all the way around to get back. This way they can take the gondola as a shortcut back and forth. I have a couple suggestions for a name for this Monastery Complex: Since these animals are Himalayan, it seems fairly apparent to do some sort of Tibetan name either with a relevant mountain in the region or some Standard Tibetan words. Also, many monasteries in the northern India/Nepal/Tibetan region work hard in conservation efforts for snow leopards, so I think this complex is very fitting. Based on my general 1:00 AM googling Something like "snowy mountain monastery" in Standard Tibetan is "Gang-ri Gom Pa". I think there's something that can be done there. Or you could use something with the holy mountains of the region (Mount Kailash I think is the most well-known). Finally, I'm getting a bit ahead of this because I know the Himalayan Brown Bear is coming, it could be clever to make reference to the yeti or "Dzu-Teh" in Nepalese, because it was found that the supposed "yeti" DNA was actually DNA of the rare Himalayan Brown Bear. Potential exhibit name for the HBB - "Dzu-Teh Dome" Great content as always, and thank you for coming to my TED talk :).

In traditional lore, Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder (variously Dunder or Donner) and Blitzen (variously Blixen or Blixem). The popularity of the 1949 Christmas song "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" has led to Rudolph joining the list, bringing the number up to nine.

Oh, PartyElite, I visited Tibet a few times and if I can recommend anything about Tibetan monastery buildings and styles, you should definitely google the "Potala" and "Rongbuk Monastery". And yes! In almost every temple in the mountains in Tibet, even in remote-ish places like near base camp for Mount Everest, you'll find these poles with multicolour Tibetan prayer flags wrapped around the pole or just floating around. For references you can google "Tibetan prayer flag pole". I don't know if that's possible in Planet Zoo, but if you're interested in trying I think it'd be super cool and look even more like the Himalayan region, or especially what I've seen of Tibet.

Wow ! Those mountain buildings look so great ! Here's an idea (don't know if it's possible though) : the railway is going just behind the cave where the snow leopard are going to sleep... Hey Party. Also remember that snow leopards are super good at jumping. So you need to keep that in mind when building barriers and selecting higth and anti climbing stuff on the top. And watch how close you put them viewing platforms. Personally I think adding a little shopping village up there is a great idea, and you should also have the paths spilt off and tunnel both directions into the mountains of both the snow leopard and Himalayan bear enclosures creating a quiet snug and cozy viewing experience for Den viewing. Imagine soft cool lighting, ambient sound, and tons of donations!

Personally, I don't think having both the gondola and the train station is overkill. People are lazy and don't wanna walk! Plus, it offer great views from above, it they manage to spot the leopards because of their camouflage. I think the reason people don't want to go see the polar bears is that's it's just too far away, but hopefully as you add more animals and expand the zoo people will see the trip to the artic as more worth it.

I love the idea of a cave for the snow leopards. I think an interesting solution to the views from there would be a glass wall like what you have for the wolves and bears. Tunnel through the mountain with the path like a secret catacomb. I think it really fits the monastery theme you have going.

Party for the viewing point of the snow leopards you could build a path that goes through the 2 tower that you built. The path would go straight up and trough the mountain and reach a viewing platform just above the little cave next to the area of the escapes!

When you make your orangutan enclosure, you could allow people to walk through it with a tunnel. Using a glass roof there or perhaps making the whole tunnel one way glass would make that work. They could also view it from above with gondola. Keeps the enclosure vertical almost entirely. Since they’re native to Borneo, you could make the whole thing an island just for the apes.

The polar bear playing with the scratching post was so cute. And to answer how close you could in theory get to them, the ye olde Edinburgh Zoo polar bear used to swim up beside a glass section, so technically a few inches of reinforced glass. 🙂 The new buildings look cool, and I'm not opposed to having both train and gondolas as it gives people the option to still see things if they have a preference of transport.

It would be better if you had gone to shrubs and small plants at mountain top, rather than putting trees. Not many trees are available at mountainous heights. Also, could you keep the lightings in that monastry region a bit modest, as to symbolise the modest way of living monks would be having over there.

Love the mosque idea. It’s turning out really nice. A few suggestions: - Put more terrain/ rocks by and underneath the stairs to make it more realistic. - The leopards jumps really really high. You’ll have to at least double the wall height you have rn. - I’m a little skeptical about the glass floor idea. It’s cool and all, and works great for aquariums, but ... imagine standing there looking up when the animal suddenly takes a big dump 🤢 The animals wouldn’t appreciate walking on glass either. - Don’t forget bins and benches!

Watched a short video here on youtube about snow leopards recently (it was like 3-4 minutes, I recommend it). Really interesting. So, they are able to climb up and down like 70-80 degree elevations, and also able to jump 7 times their own length. 16 meters! That's why they are jumping around, and climb outside, so plan accordingly. And saw it in other planet zoo vid, that despite they don't need climbing, they would use it. Put down at least one dried out tree for them, for cool views.

Right now that’s the biggest open space you have so if guests don’t have a way to see them there, you’re not going to have decent views. The snow leopards can jump pretty high so that will be a limitation as you work on that habitat. I’m also pretty sure they’re going to be able to climb the wood.

The snow leopards habitat looks great but to blend the train tracks into the mountains would be great, like having the train track go through a tunnel built into the mountain

The temperature messed up just reminded me of the first habitat where you "forced" the wolves to live at -20 . LOL The tiger cubs are so adorable! Just like my Leo! I always told him to grow up and be like a tiger or a lion. Haha I've seen polar bears in a zoo before, they're huge & so fluffy! But the sad thing was, the habitat was too small in comparison to the ideal size for them. Talking about their habitat, somehow, if you're into whimsical theme, you could make a coca cola truck as a building where you can place either the toilets or stalls. BTW, you might want to consider adding some exhibitions animals at the polar bear area, or move the turtle there. The turtles could probably attract more people to visit the area. I must say that, I love the lightings in the zoo but, perhaps more lights along the pathway? And fences too? I don't mind to have a gondola ride near the habitat. At least, the visitors have an option, to walk, to ride the train or the gondola. Why not? I personally prefer to have an option.I think you might want to consider to make a pagoda as a viewing platform (if you've been to Osaka, it's something like the castle there). You might want to check out Fansipan, Sapa in Hanoi as a reference too. It's also have cable car, pagoda, etc. Just wondering, when will you build the memorial area? ;P It's already 100 years! They might turn into fossil anytime soon. Last but not least, I think it would be nice if you can give names to those significant build too (i.e, stairs, river, the mountain, etc). Perhaps adds steps count as sign post too (something like how they display the height of the mountain above sea level).

Thanks for another great episode! I wouldn't mind the gondola and train station so close to each other. I feel like the purpose of both is completely different. While the train feels a bit more like a transport service from A to B (mainly), a gondola is there to enjoy the view and you mostly take the train to get to the gondola. So I would think it's fine in that way :D The snow leopards area starts to look really fine!!! I'm looking forward to more building in the next episode! :D

Maybe you could make the leopard cave go down so the people that walk through the tunnel underneath can see them inside the cave while they are resting there :)

If you do make a market place type thing, you should make it a stone garden theme. They are very popular in Buddhist temples and would be a great way to make the space seem more interactive for the guests even if they can't really meditate. And it would be cute to name the Leopard Habitat as the Leaping Monastery, since the jump animation is a huge leap, as a snow leopard can leap 20 ft / 6 meters vertically.

You could make like another tower, on the other side of the mountain (the side with the train track) that would be a walk in one for the guests to look at the leopards in the ruins :) with like a balcony and maybe a food stall, hot drinks or something :)

Oh man, amazing work Party! I can see the Tibetan Monastery might become one of my fave enclosures. If i rememver rightly from my time in school the prayer flags colours all represent something different and they usually have mantras on. So you usually see them on the strung along the trails in the mountains as they believe the wind will spread the peace and prosperity written on the flags. May have remembered that incorrectly though, I'm not an expert. Also don't forget to get a new female timber wolf! 😊

I think the reason you're not seeing people viewing the animals more further out is because you have it set to a low amount of park guests that are viewable? I could be wrong but it's worth a shot!!

Add some exhibit animals in the Aurora borealis (auto correct messed it up) so that way if people can't see the polar bears, they have other things to see. Also, you need some bins on the other side of Santa's workshop

The reason there are steps in certain places, take a Buddhist Temple, for example, is to make people focus on walking each step. In Buddism, before you pray to Buddha, you need to concentrate your mind. Concentration is related to a process of purification one’s soul. It's one of the most important teachings in Buddism. It exists as the first entrance into Buddism, but also the last exit as well.

You asked for it, so like usual I have a million comments for your amazing video series. 1. I like both the train and gondola ride but I can’t imagine how the gondola will fit. That’s why you play and I sit back relax and watch the magic happen. 2. I say name the animals bc it is fun. 3. The grid sucks. Don’t use the grid. You do sooooo goood without the grid. 4. Wood fencing looks weird in snow leopard habitat. What about stone? Or something else? 5. Your adding a lot of trees but are those the right type for the animal? They look good but do they fit the environment, I don’t know. 6. You mentioned adding another viewing area for the snow leopards. What about extending the path “in front” ( the side near the pandas) to follow the stairs and mountain up. I don’t know if it would be possible because it would go over the other path(other path = the one going under the mountain towards the train station)

Maybe you could add another entrance on the polarbear side to promote more even distribution of guest. As of now all the guest have to travel a long time to get to that side. You could even add like a parking lot area or make a seemingly under ground entrance and then the flow of quest could start in that area as well. As far as i can tell there is no limit on how many entrances you can have for your zoo.

I was so lucky to be in Copenhagen Zoo when the baby polar bear was let outside the first time, it was the cutest thing I have ever seen. Let's celebrate 100 years of our Elite Zoo North! Remember to get a female timber wolf or two since you have 3 males and an alpha... Also, I'm really looking forward to you getting some snow leopard cubs, they are the cutest. I would like to see just a train station because I think that would be enough, it would be a bit much having both. I look forward to seeing Red Pandas when you get to them they are my favorites, I read somewhere recently that there are actually two different species of Red Pandas and that is why it's so hard to breed them.

I know it’s rather late but you’ve said you check old comments on videos so I hope you see this. When sorting out your exhibit animals, make sure to keep an eye on the ages. I noticed one of the tarantulas was about 25 years old and you kept them. It’d be better to trade those ones out and keep the younger ones so that you don’t end up having to buy a new parent. On another note, I absolutely love your series. Your eye for detail is amazing. Keep up the good job!

So for the snow leopards you should make the boundaries more cliff like because they wont be able to jump down the drop. Right now they can jump the current boundary.

The Himalaya section looks sooo good! The stone from the buildings blends nicely with the mountains. Kudos to the developers for making this game such a beautiful expierence to look at! Regarding the snow leopard viewing spot: maybe tunnel through the big mountain from the lower viewing spot to over their sleeping cave and build a viewing platform up over there. And I know that this might be too much but what about other exhibit animals? Maybe there are some from East Asia and a good spot would be the visitor tunnel under the snow leopard resting place (I like the exhibit animals very much). And another suggestion :) what about some rickety faux walkways up in the mountains like the walkways where there are only a few wooden planks and you wonder how on earth someone could use them! :)
