I love how we get a little tour along the paths in the zoo in the beginning and get to see places we haven't seen in a while from this perspective! I agree with you about the disconnect with some of the animals due to rushing new additions. And I think that when new animals aren't added too quickly it allows more time to plan and think about their enclosure and the surroundings of the enclosure. On one hand, it's always nice to see when great progression is made and a habitat is almost completed, on the other I enjoy greatly when we get to go back to a habitat and see it progress and most importantly get to see the animals more. :) I also agree with the points of how hard it is to say what's the best approach for building material, for instance. I don't like how much plastic is used but it's just so usable for everything... It's easy for us westerners to say that you have to think about the nature when people in third world countries are starving and sick and just want to survive by making as much money as they can. And it's not like some European countries are any better, some of them have almost completely cut down their forests! Which pisses me off when the EU (and especially the leader countries like Germany and France) is talking about how much each country can cut down their forests each year which is caused by the big countries having ruined their forests and don't understand how it can be done sustainably. Every year the forest area grows bigger than what is cut in my country, and forests take up 73% of our land area. But then again the biodiversity can suffer... So there's work to be done, but I think it's really hypocritical for some people to tell how to work with nature when they themselves screwed up. I'm sorry for the rant, it just annoys me a lot. But at the same time I get it, I guess. I just hope we can stop ruining nature and help poorer countries to make better decisions. Okay, back to business. While you did put back on the education boards for the Brazilian Wandering spiders, their educational speaker was not turned on. The arctic wolves are so cute, taking a dip in the river in the moonlight (and what are the chances that the pup is named Nanook!). The Tundra Trail sign looks very good on top of the gondola ride since the ride is a trail as well. It's also lovely to see a flamingo in the little heart pond. I love these little moments with the animals.

Only a few episodes left until the 100th episode. Been here since the beginning of the Planet zoo series and it's so strange to think about the hours I've spend watching you make this zoo. Btw if I'm not completely mistaken bamboo is a type of grass which means it grows extremely fast. This makes it quite sustainable and better to use than wood, plastic and many other materials.

Construction materials notes! Bamboo grows like the plague, so it's a great sustainable material, and investing in sustainable wood suppliers by purchasing from them helps promote and continue sustainable practices! Plastics never fully degrade, even "compostable plastic", so using them carelessly like for building, isn't environmentally friendly. Game notes: Be sure you took both the pronghorn and bison off contraceptives! I know you tried the save after load in thing an episode or two ago, but it has to be done promptly, with no clicking around before saving. You'll know you got it when the load in screen doesn't say to save for remapping terrain at the end. Thanks for another episode!

Hi ! I've been catching up on your entire series, it's been great ! You convinced me to buy the game, since you're the only youtuber I've found who kept up with their playthrough ^^ About the flamingos, could it be a hard shelter problem ? because at some point I think the alerts used to say "animal is stressed and trying to hide", and hard shelter is hiding I think. So maybe you could cover the path or something, so when it rains guests don't complain about umbrellas and it counts as hard shelter when they're close to humans ? (maybe you figured it out in more recent episodes, I don't know yet, sorry)

From what I understand, guest education is based on their entire visit. When they first arrive at the zoo they are at zero, but as they move around to the various enclosures, it increases based on the education that you've placed down. People who've arrived at your zoo recently will only have a small education percentage. People who have been in your zoo for a few years will have a higher percentage. Those that are leaving will have the highest percentage, which if you've done the right thing, should be close to 100%. I hope that makes sense. Oh, and in the orangutan habitat, I think the snow is being counted at the top of the trees since the animals can technically climb up there. (And I'm sorry to hear about the technical issues you're currently having!)

Party, building houses out of biodegradable plastics is so much worse for the environment than building it out of wood or bamboo! Bamboo can grow up to 1m per day, and like wood, is renewable, so most times are done in plantation forest and not taken from protected areas. Many types of biodegradable plastics dont degrade completely, they just become microplastics. Its so small its invisible so we think its 'gone' but its actually much worse for the environment since research has shown it can move through cell walls and literally pollute at a cell level which is crazy. The plastic production process is also pretty co2 heavy, even when making it from natural sources, whereas chopping down trees or bamboo is actually a net negative co2 total (since the trees are removed before they degrade themselves) which is why its considered co2 neutral. There's many issues with forestry, it can be especially damaging at a local level if not done correctly (a big issue in poorer areas), but overall, tree or bamboo housing is so much better for the environment than building things out of plastic can ever be. okay this became a slight rant lol - I do sustainable development and it bothers me when people think biodegradable plastics can take over from oil-based plastics without issues. Biodegradable plastics are good to use in food packaging, etc. when hygiene is important, and where it can be recycled. If not recycled its pretty much as bad for the environment as regular plastics. And building houses out of it you'd get a similar result as throwing a giant piece of trash on the ground on the local area.
@PartyElite4 жыл бұрын
I welcome this kind of rant! I shouldn't have talked so brazenly about deforestation vs biodegradable plastics since it's a topic with quite a bit of nuance! I'm a little disappointed in myself since it's stuff I know but just didn't think to speak through (I think a good indicator of my fatigue)!

Hay. Not to rude and if I am sorry. I come from a country that exports wood but still is very conscientiousness of the environment. I think that in game it is real wood. I'm still of the opinion that you should add all of Africa/South America in EZ:South, and not jump back and forth between North and South. Yeah, some of them are northern hemisphere, but you have some southern hemisphere/borderline in EZ:North already, so it wouldn't be "weird" imo. Adding more animals to North seems like it could be borderlining on killing the zoo due to lag, and you can still go back and manage the zoo without adding anything new. Anyway, I really enjoy this series, and as long as you're happy I'm sure it'll all turn out okay.

Hey Party, I know you reaaaaally like the trees in Flamingle Park... But I'm pretty sure there is still too many plants for Flamingos. I was a bit behind in episodes when I commented and didn't realize it, but I mentioned in the Flamingoing Mad episode that, flamingos live primarily on lakes and lagoons. Large open spaces with little to no coverage. Also, when you clicked on the flamingos, the ones who were alone had a higher stress rate, so they do seem to get pretty stressed out when they're alone so you might also just have too few flamingos for just a large space. Their max flock size is 500, so that could be the primary reason their stress is fluctuating so much and you might be able to keep your trees. This was a great episode like always Party, and it's been a nice way for me to wind down when my insomnia kicks in, between this and your Workers and Resources series I always manage to get a couple hours of sleep. So thank you for your hard work, and please remember to rest and take care of yourself. I'm excited for the next park.

About the Russian village - since you are using references from that part of the world, you could model the stalls as painted huts lost in the woods. Something from a Russian (Slavic) fairytale! The gondola station could be The House With Chicken Legs - Home of Baba Yaga. Slavs have numerous stories featuring wolves (werewolves), sometimes evil, but what caught my attention is a god named Dazbog - he is a sun deity that changes into a large white wolf! The viewing platform could be a place where he enters the sky - a parked chariot would be cooler, but that would be the wrong Pantheon, lol. I would like to see your take on this!

Sorry, I very rarely comment but always like the video as soon as I click on it. The comment you mention at the start I completely resonate with. At first I was sad but knew you had to move on.. Now I'm super pumped for the the starting out phase of the zoo again. Will be somewhat nostalgic like the start of Elite North days. :-)

I cannot wait to see what you can do with all the gained knowledge and a blank canvas in the outback

Your patron list is getting so long! So happy for you and the channel! If your still doing animal sponsorships sign me up! Red pandas, pandas, or artic wolves would be my preferences, whatever works best for you.

Not gonna lie I was a little sad when I first heard no new animals but this ep was very entertaining!! Also over here in the prairies we like butcher names like Xavier so I grew up pronouncing it “ex-ayv-yer” Hahahha SOS it is never ending.

If it makes you feel better about using bamboo to build things around the zoos it is actually the fast growing plant and is highly sustainable as it grows at a rate of 91cm per day! Bamboo is so fast-growing that it can yield 20 times more timber than trees on the same area! ^-^

The Reindeer have grade 1 food The Dall Sheep have grade 2 food The Orangutans have grade 1 food The American Bison have grade 1 food The Pronghorned Antelope have grade 1 food The Galapagos Giant Tortoises have grade 1 food ....and I'm pretty sure there are more. Thought you'd want to know!

Parry can you check if the orangutans can still climb over? it seems they were complaining about space. I remember they can have 1 male and 5 females.

Will check!

Maybe it would help to boost the education if you spread more of the generic education boards at some blank spots of the zoo. I remember having issues with education at the beggining of the series and placing 3 of these right at the entrance helped a lot.

the water fall at 57;37 is the reason why you cant raise the water level at catmandu. (the little divot with water of the waterfall top)

I say just separate the flamingos to two enclosures.

“I can’t think of an enclosure I’m unhappy with.” except maybe freaking Flamingle Park 😂 (it’s great, except the issues obviously are no fun for you)

Oh my lmao. Good point

Maybe that first flamingo was stressed because of the train passing by (the noise?) because the stress went green after it passed. And the other flamingo might be because he was alone?

i think some herbivores are good for the first animal at the new zoo, like zebra or ostrich they don't cost much for the food and they are usually have a cheap price to buy

I think for the new zoo it would be cool if you did a structured weekly routine. So say you do three videos a week, one could be a new animal, second could be beauty only and last one could be trading and checking on habitats and fixing animal related issues. Just a thought. And then every other week you could do an episode on elite zoo north.
