What a wonderful review! Detailed, clear, fun and informative! I’ll be likely purchasing this car - love the 1.0 l turbo, 6-speed manual, panoramic roof that OPENS - OMG! Love to find your other reviews! Again, very nice and complete!! THANKS, Steve on 20 April 2024

my zs 1.0 manual (71) is in the garage getting a new gearbox fitted at 12k, noticed it around 2k but struggled to get the MG dealer to admit it. car has fallen apart considerably. infotainment system is very poor and crashes a lot (even with the update). passenger door struggles to open. also had it misfire several times due to fuel pressure issue! great car when new but falls apart very fast it seems.

That’s strange - it’s the first issue we’ve heard with that engine. Considering it’s the one from the Vauxhall Corsa it’s very surprising. Mind you, as it’s in the MG, you are covered by the 7 year warranty. Thank goodness for that! When will all the repairs be finished? *A

The Honda jazz SR has much more safety kit, 1500 cc motor plus hybrid assistance, 0-60 in 8.5 as tested by what car and an auto box for the same money. The cross star in on a price level with the top spec petrol version of this, both versions have magic seats. So its the cross star that is more a rival for its faux suv styling. The honda's seem to be the forgotten cars of today, except for the civic type R
@PlanetautoUK2 жыл бұрын
Thing is, the ZS is bigger than the Jazz and has a 7 year warranty. The Honda Jazz is a fantastic car, and is great for the money, but the bottom line is you have to buy for what you need. Some may need the extra space this ZS offers. *A

I have the same car, 7 months old, nice looking car but awful mpg. Don't know how you get 35 mpg as I get about 25/26 and I am not heavy footed, no faults on diagnostic check but MG had to perform a regen as they thought my petrol particulate filter may have been clogged. Really disappointing.
@PlanetautoUK Жыл бұрын
We got even higher than this with the same unit in the Corsa a few years ago.
@antoniozollino4845 Жыл бұрын
@@PlanetautoUK That makes me feel a lot better😂. I'm not enjoying my ZS experience up to now as its proving to be extremely expensive to run a 1 litre car, fill up is registering 260 miles to empty which is pretty shocking. I don't think I will be keeping this car for to much longer of MG have clearly failed to tell its customers that these particular models are prone to issues with their particulate filters, a bit naughty if you ask me, I wonder if other SZ owners are experiencing similar issues. Keep up the good work by the way, excellent channel for reviews.

In australia, there is the normal zs (which has the pre facelift styling), but there is also a model called the ZST. It has the facelift design, and is comes with a 1.5L naturally aspirated, and the impressive thing is the flagship engine, that come on the 2 top trims, a 1.3L Turbo 3 cylinder that makes 115kw. My grandparents friend has one, which I’ve been in and it is a very punchy engine!

In its electric form its makes much more sense, 35- 40 mpg is poor these days as for example the cross star will do well north of 60mpg, and with much better residuals.
